Neutral (neither congenial or obnoxious / toxic) and we show each pattern's intrinsically valuable or desirable principles with some not so!

Oxor Method™ - Phase 3

The Bishop Descriptions™ are shown on this page. These are vanilla descriptions based on each pattern's main drivers. Vanilla means when the person pretty much is in a neutral state (= not toxic, mental problems etc.)

If around 80% of the adjectives or phrases 'fit', the pattern probably fits the person. Then you can impose correctly!

You will most likely need assistance :-) This might tell you what but it will not tell you how.

1. Can it be the Director - ESTJ?

The Director is the Border Collie

George W. Bush

Aka: The Dictator; Noun: Command; Method: The Enforcer; No.1 Skillset: Management; All they seek is: Control.

▲ Virtue: Serenity ▼ Vice (aka blindspot): Chaos ▼ Somewhat weird feature: Holds eye contact too long.
≈ Derogatory Tag: The loud, angry and bossy one.
£ High School Stereotype: The micro manager from Hell - "If I want your opinion, I’ll give it to you."
∃ True Stereotype & Surprising Characteristic: 10/10 super hard on you and do not mean for you to take it personally; Enjoys being controversial.
♦ Always Up For: Capitalism.
∴ Personality: Decisive.
✠ International Descriptor™ (Japanese): Kyoikumama. A mother who relentlessly pushes her children towards academic achievement.
¿ Local Descriptor™ (P R of Aus): They know the answer and are the know all.
/ Unique Vibes™: Cairn. (man made pile of stones); Bold and Commanding.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Brings direction to those in need of leadership.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Not being in charge.

At the Neutral level

Hard-working, straightforward, and precise the Director often receives praise for commitment and dependability. They enjoy being in a structured environment where their role and expectations are clear. They consider themselves "doers" and are able to get things done thoroughly and well ahead of schedule. The only downside to this is that they can be rather controlling, feeling that their way is the "best" way and being inflexible to other people’s ideas or becoming bossy and forceful. They can come across as aggressive and strong-willed. They have little patience for Results, Achievers, Counselors or Specialists, seeing their open-ended, more flexible lifestyle as lazy or incompetent. They can also see Persuaders, Investigators, Promoters and Agents (the SJW's) as overly-sensitive and illogical rather than interpersonally intelligent. In maturity, the Director tends to recognise the strengths of these areas and will seek out perspectives from these types as well as Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals ands Perfectionists.

In neutral mode are very focussed on output and goals. They have high-standards and are good at breaking projects down into small, sequential steps. People often turn to them when they feel directionless or overwhelmed by daunting tasks. Their pragmatic, friendly nature tends to put people at ease. The only downside to this productivity and confidence is that they can develop a "know-it-all" attitude and become unwilling to see other perspectives, especially the perspectives of Persuaders, Investigators, Developers and Enhancers. Although they appreciate the goal-orientation of these four, they tend to find them fanciful and overly abstract. Promoters, Agents, Inspirationals and Perfectionists tend to fascinate them because they share extraverted intuition. This leads to enjoyment of brainstorming and looking at many possibilities during their leisure time. They are uncomfortable with change and have zero patience and no tolerance for those who do not share their values / beliefs.

In relationships, the Director takes their usual pragmatic approach. They want a partner they can rely on to be loyal, devoted and committed. If they perceive excessive inconsistencies within a person’s actions over a period of time, they are likely to feel distrustful towards them – and consider them unsuitable for long-term partnership. Inconsistency is the deal breaker. Realistically, they do not have a relationship, they have a deal.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Director solves problems by expertly applying and adapting past experience. They like work where they can achieve immediate, visible and tangible results. They have a natural bent for business and industry, production and construction. They enjoy administration and getting things organised and done.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To feel they have control over their emotions; To enjoy working out; To say they have a good fashion sense; To be bothered by misaligned objects; To never get lost.

Least: To give up quickly when faced with difficult problems; To feel overwhelmed by their to-do list; To be disrespected; To be subjected to whingers; To have to be emotionally open; To be subjected to new age silliness.

Hidden talent: Generosity

Rightly, the Director is often stereotyped as the cut throat professional climber who will stop at nothing to attain their goals. And while they are certainly ambitious in nature, what is often overlooked is the immense loyalty they feel towards their loved ones. To those in their inner circle, the Director is an endlessly generous person who will do almost anything for the benefit of their family and close friends. Their heartless stereotype certainly does not fit in all situations, as anyone who is loved by a Director can attest.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Do not reinvent the wheel unnecessarily. Do not question or debate them unnecessarily. Let them lead but challenge them occasionally.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The Counter Revolutionary Rebel.

Together with the Objective Thinker, the Director in recent years has discovered rebellion despite being usually the least rebellious patterns.
There is a bit too much change in the world and they do not like it and may be firing them up. Are Trump rallies, Brexit, Gilet Jaunes (Yellow vests in France) filled with these two? We are living in an age where these two are rebelling against the enormous social and economic change that has happened and is continuing to happen. These two rebel against change because they want to bring back the old order, real or imagined. Did every counter-revolution in history have the two in its ranks.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Director might say:

"Not ignorance, but ignorance of ignorance is the death of knowledge."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a little about a lot squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

One of the Director's oddities may be their black and white way of thinking. They have a low tolerance for vague or ambiguous theories. They need to take a definitive position choosing one side or the other and will stick with that until proven otherwise. They can be very hard to convince or persuaded to change their minds once it has been made up. They only consider other possibilities once their tried and true approach no longer yields the results they expect. At that point they can become surprisingly open minded as their deep-seated conceptions undergo reconstruction.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"Comfortable and professional - never forgets their coat."

Fashion sense: "No nonsense, minimalistic, traditional and comfortable."

Style précis: "Balanced, appropriate, predictable; likely to plan their outfits ahead of time."

Bright Colours: "Does not wear bright colours."

Dressage Risk: "Has an aversion towards the unconventional."

Narrative of the Compás moral™:

Is largely informed by the precedents set by history and the lessons learned so that the mistakes of the past are not repeated. Promotes personal responsibility and competence. They expect people to adhere to and play by the rules and respect authority and traditional values. Because their public image and reputation are so important to them, they try to fashion themselves in the image of an upstanding and respectable person who is a pillar of moral authority and justice in their community.

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Director pattern™:

"I love such amazing dedication by you. I admire your stubbornness, but only when it is applied in the right way."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Director pattern™:

"I do not know, but actually maybe take take some suggestions from other people sometimes. Why do you shut me down by thinking you know everything, including that your way is always best? "You are the strict big brother or sister. You run to Mummy if you cannot get your way. Behind your chutzpah, I sometimes see you as being weak minded."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Director pattern™:

"I see the wind changing directions, you seeking friendship by interest, being reliant on other’s approval to validate your self worth, not being accountable and easily able to betray a commitment. Therefore, my trust in you is low."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Director pattern™:

"I think that you harbour some smugness about your status in society. Many of you are able to rise through the ranks due to your natural leadership and learning ability. You respect others who you feel have achieved a high degree of success in the world. Although you have very high standards for behaviour, and believe that you know what is appropriate and best in any given situation, you are likely to be less controlling with those who you feel are powerful individuals. With other people, you adopt a more authoritarian tone; especially towards subordinates. This makes you unliked, often loathed."

E. Hunter What the Director pattern HATES™: Complainers.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Regulate it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

"Caring."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

"I would tell you if I knew that you would not sue me."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

"The executive who can swiftly identify whether something is useless or mildly tolerable."

2. Can it be the Developer - ENTJ?

The Developer is the German Shepherd

Nancy Pelosi.

Aka: The Opportunist; Noun: Dominance; Method: The Mobiliser; No.1 Skillset: Planning/mobilising; All they seek is: Achievement.

▲ Virtue: Altruism ▼ Vice (aka blindspot): Avarice; Somewhat weird feature: Wants to live forever.
≈ Derogatory Tag: The bully CEO of so many companies.
£ High School Stereotype: The adult teenager who is loud, bossy and argumentative. The Bully’s Bully.
∃ True Stereotype & Surprising Characteristic: Wherever the ladder is, are headed for the top; Actually generally interested in how people are doing and what is going on.
♦ Always Up For: The mafia.
∴ Personality: Strategic.
✠ International Descriptor™ (German): Schadenfreude. The feeling of joy or pleasure when one sees another fail or suffer misfortune.
¿ Local Descriptor™ (P R of Aus): They are life's natural leaders and have high expectations of others.
/ Unique Vibes™: Architecture; Energetic and Commanding.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Thrives in the impossible.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Nobody doing what they are told.

At the Neutral level

Action-oriented, decisive, and ambitious, are eager to make big changes and achieve great success. Highly aspirational and competitive, they tend to be drawn to either independent careers or jobs where hard-work and innovative thinking is prized and rewarded. They want to be better than everyone else at what they do and will struggle with working under people for this reason. Whoever leads them must have their utmost respect or they will be plagued by the feeling that they could do a much better job. For this reason, many Developers start their own businesses or have careers that give them a great deal of control and autonomy.

Developers are skilled at staying objective and making decisions that are logical. They value justice and fairness and will try to keep themselves from showing any kind of preferential treatment. At the same time, they tend to view people with opposing personalities as "wrong" in many instances. They may see Promoters, Agents, Appraisers, Practitioners, Persuaders, Investigators, Counselors and Specialists as unnecessarily involved with others. They may misjudge Directors, OTs, Appraisers, Practitioners, Results, Achievers, Counselors and Specialists as narrow-minded and caught up in details. They can view Promoters, Agents, Inspirationals, Perfectionists, Results, Achievers, Counselors and Specialists as lazy or overly distracted. You can see why conflict ensues! As a Developer grows and and matures tends to realise that they have weaknesses in the Sensing, Feeling and Perceiving areas. They will then seek out perspectives from their opposite types so that they can achieve better balance and growth.

Developers are extremely insightful into how things will progress in the future. They easily pick up on patterns and trends and, as a result, can come up with brilliant strategies. Their confidence, ambition and innovative way of thinking is inspiring to many.

In relationships, the Developer shows their love through acts of diligence and loyalty and they expect the same back from their partners. To them, love is a verb, not a feeling. The moment they suspect that a partner may be willing to betray or act against them, they will not hesitate to shut them out. Relationships are a matter of risk management and if the partner is not going to play devotedly for their team, they can find another. Disloyalty is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Developer looks at the world with intuition rather than sensing, so they are mainly interested in the possibilities beyond the present, obvious, or known. Intuition heightens their intellectual interest, curiosity about new ideas (whether immediately useful or not), tolerance for theory, taste for complex problems, insight, vision and concern for long-range possibilities and consequences.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To consciously try to challenge themselves in life; To ask for constructive criticism; To believe that we are masters of our own destiny; To say they drive better than most people; To enjoy giving motivational speeches. To keep going because does not want to admit being lost if get lost.

Least: To feel uncomfortable in the presence of a celebrity. To be accused of being wrong; To have to handle an issue with kid gloves; To have to put up with immaturity; To cry.

Hidden talent: Emotional Intelligence

Rightly, the Developer is often stereotyped as the ruthless, inconsiderate ladder-climber. What lesser known is their incredible ability to read, respect and relate authentically to others. They may trust reason over emotion when it comes to decision-making, but they nonetheless possess an astonishing sense of emotional intelligence that allows them to connect meaningfully with most people they meet. These types are living proof that logic and empathy are not always at odds with each other.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Let them decide but sometimes stand up to them and challenge them. They might behave ultra dominant (bully) but they respect spunk. They also need to feel in charge.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The Lenin, The Rebel Mastermind.

One would expect the Director or the Enhancer to be the one sitting in the Presidential Palace sending their Objective Thinker police out to break some protesters limbs. But both types have got to get into that Presidential Palace in the first place. They are the ones who are going to slip into the leadership slot of your revolutionary movement or activist group and have the vision to actually get things moving. Maybe 'rebel' is not the right word, but both these can even produce their ‘Napoleons’ who achieve positions of power and rebel in the sense of driving through radical change - the rebel in power.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Developer might say:

"You may delay, but time will not."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a lot about very little squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

One of the Developer's oddities may be that they rarely seem to live in the present. They are said to be restless and have a preoccupation with future planning such that they almost never stop to smell the roses or savour the moment. Furthermore, they have been described as having a slightly “vague” look in their eyes as though they are focussing on something far away no else can see. This is because they are almost always looking ahead and thinking about the next step or next stage of progression. They like to keep things moving because they have so much they want to accomplish on their agenda.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"Extremely elegant. Always clean and pleasing to the eye."

Fashion sense: "Professional, minimalistic, mix and match, occasionally individualistic (during free time)."

Style précis: "Adaptable, canny, calculated; often use style as a tool to get what they want."

Bright Colours: "Does not wear bright colours."

Dressage Risk: "The quest to be the best, even a bit intimidating."

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Developer pattern™:

"I love such efficiency, so much self-confidence. You are a leader possessing the qualities required of company presidents and CEOs."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Developer pattern™:

"You remind me of a human bully-boy bulldozer. Sometimes that is not such a bad thing."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Developer pattern™:

"As I see you as the bully, therefore, my trust in you is low."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Developer pattern™:

"I think that you are a visionary who hase the ability to take an idea from its infancy and grow it into a prosperous enterprise. I think that you are likely to pride yourself on your competence and drive. I see that you are able to acquire resources and engineer master plans for long term success. Others appreciate your confidence and trust their judgment and leadership. You may sometimes see yourself as king and queen and in the wake of the triumphs you experience may cultivate a bit of arrogance and an attitude of entitlement. Because you are so self driven and self motivated, you are very well able to claim most of the credit for what you achieve. Any others know that!"

E. Hunter What the Developer pattern HATES™: Laziness.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Conquer it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

"Emotional."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

"So, you have seen it all?"

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

"The elitist leader with a checklist of qualities that people must have to be a 'non-idiot'."

3. Can it be the Results - ESTP?

The Results is the Jack Russell Terrier

Donald Trump

Aka: The 'You Only Live Once' Boss; Noun: Rebellion; Method: The Inducer; No.1 Skillset: Execution; All they seek is: Adventure.

▲ Virtue: Chastity ▼ Vice (aka blindspot): Nymphomania; Somewhat weird feature: The smooth talker.
≈ Derogatory Tag: The adventurer who is the suave and polished master manipulator.
£ High School Stereotype: Had a bf/gf at multiple schools.
∃ True Stereotype & Surprising Characteristic: Must always be active; Can make a plan and make it work quite well.
♦ Always Up For: Sports drinks.
∴ Personality: Pragmatic.
✠ International Descriptor™ (Dutch): Lekker. Tasty, sexy, feeling good, comfortable, relaxed, healthy, happy.
¿ Local Descriptor™ (P R of Aus): They make the most of every moment and have no filter.
/ Unique Vibes™: Adventure; Energetic and Passive.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Does when others do not.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Having their ego busted.

At the Neutral level

Results are energetic, logical and highly in tune with the world around them. Fast-acting and opportunistic, they like a busy life full of variety and action. Risky situations excite them because they are mentally wired to enter a flow state when they have to think quickly in pivotal moments. As a result, many Results are drawn to the stock market, entrepreneurship or physically active careers where they have to think on their feet and make quick, high-stakes decisions. They bring a lot of enthusiasm to whatever they do, combining a down-to-earth charm with a thrill-seeking sense of adventure. They hate anything repetitive, mundane, or by the book, preferring instead to improvise based on the opportunity of the moment. In repetitive careers, they tend to become impatient, restless or distracted. Completing repetitive or dull projects can also be a struggle.

The Results can be very charismatic or super dull. They really can tell (and embellish) a story superbly, are mostly open, are very cheeky in terms of what they will say and can be super insightful. On the other hand they can go on about motor vehicles for hours whilst they bore you to tears.

Straightforward but gregarious, Results are often prized for their ability to "tell it as it is" in a charming, personable way. They are excellent negotiators and have a gift for sensing what other people are out to get in any social interaction. They can quickly decode other people’s motivations but they tend to be somewhat cynical about humanity as a whole, believing that everyone has an "angle" in any situation.

In relationships, the Results likes a lot of variety and are genuinely curious about human nature. They enjoy people who are optimistic, passionate and easy-going. People who take themselves too seriously are likely to experience some good-natured ribbing from the Results who see their pretentiousness as an invitation for teasing. Results struggle with Persuaders, Investigators, Promoters, Agents, Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals and Perfectionists because they see their focus on abstraction and theory as a waste of time. They can also sometimes struggle with Persuaders, Investigators, Promoters, Agents, Appraisers, Practitioners, Counselors and Specialists because they think that they are too over sensitive and easily hurt. As they grow and mature, they become more and more aware of their blind spots and will seek the input of Intuitive and Feeling types who can balance out their weak points. More likely than other patterns to leave relationships quickly when they get bored which is the deal breaker.

They are are action-oriented folk and they need someone who can keep up. It is not that they need you to be a marathon runner or a trade skydiver to date them, but do they need someone who is open and adaptable to their fast-paced lifestyle. They cannot handle a partner who only wants to sit at home and deliberate – this pattern wants to be where the action is and they need someone who is willing and eager to join them. Dormancy is the dealbreaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Results sees the value in high-energy shared physical experiences. They recognise that people want to feel connected and enjoy an active life, so they often find themselves in roles where they are avatars for others such as politicians, athletes or performers.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To find it easy to let go of past mistakes; To be one of the “cool” kids at school; To know how to build and start a fire; To prefer kinesthetic learning (through touch or experience); To perform better under pressure; To be a fast eater; To keep going because going back is too boring if get lost.

Least: To not to bulltish; To have limits; To have to put up with 'stupid people'; To have to put up with authority; To have to 'tone it down'.

Hidden talent: Inventiveness

Rightly, the Results is often stereotyped the daredevil bad boy. And while they can harbour a rebellious streak, they can also harbour a keen entrepreneurial one. They often stay on the cutting edge of new technological trends and are just as quick as their intuiting counterparts to formulate new inventions. These types are naturally wired to observe, understand and apply creative thinking to their existing knowledge base. Many of these quick-thinking types are responsible for some great achievements.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

They seem to love people who care about other people and are kind and social.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The “Rebel without a cause” Rebel.

The Results, together with the Achiever, just wants to have fun. Do not try and stop them. Do not skateboard here, no loud music after midnight, must wear your helmet on your motorbike, drag racing is illegal, got to do this, got to do that. NO!!!!!! These two want to be let loose on the world to enjoy themselves and do stuff. Fun stuff. They are driven to do what they think, what they decide and do not care what the rules and police say they can and cannot do. If someone is out having fun doing something they are not supposed to do, they are probably a Results or Achiever.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Results might say:

"At the end of the day; it is night."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a lot about very little squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

With their extraverted sensing, the Results may have a penchant for getting hooked on certain things; not the least of which being alcohol. Anything that gives them a thrill or rush of pleasure can potentially become a well to which they will come back to time and time again. They are thrillseekers who enjoy things to excess and often times seek to outdo themselves with each outing. They, for example, may develop an obsession with roller coasters that inspires them to embark on a quest to ride more coasters where each one is progressively bigger and scarier than the last.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"Styles may vary, but they would all be described as 'very cool'."

Fashion sense: "Breathable, coordinated, matched to the situation, comfortable, casual (outside of work)."

Style précis: "Brave, original, follow their instincts; enjoy interpreting popular fashions in their own way."

Bright Colours: "Is currently wearing bright colours."

Dressage Risk: "A tendency to be a very impulsive fashion shopper."

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Results pattern™:

"If I was forced leave my house and go and do a social activity, I would pick you crazy fcuker. I have never met a Results who has backed down from a dare. You are the doer. Number one type to pick for doing weird, stupid or ridiculous activities that are probably illegal and / or deadly."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Results pattern™:

"For Christ's sake, stop trying to impress everyone all of the time. It’s exhausting. Also: you should really try to weigh risk vs reward more often. You really are a dickhead for attempting to leap off of a two story balcony last summer to go to meet up with some hot motocross racers."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Results pattern™:

"I see the wind changing directions, you seeking friendship by interest, being reliant on other’s approval to validate your self worth, not being accountable and easily able to betray a commitment. Therefore, my trust in you is low."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Results pattern™:

"I think that you are a great improviser and that you are likely to be very confident in your ability to rise to the occasion and “seize the bull (or anything else) by the horns”. In the process of acting in the moment, you may overlook the consequences of your decisions but may post-facto rationalize your choices as the enda are justified by the means. You fancy yourself as the person in whose hands can be entrusted to resolve a crisis or sticky situation. You pride yourself on your chutzpah and thrive on the urgency and pressure of a pressing and demanding ordeal because you like to get things moving quickly so you can experience the satisfaction of scoring yet another triumphant victory".

E. Hunter What the Results pattern HATES™: Rambling.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Travel it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

"Smart."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

"Please leave."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

"The impulsive teen who always jumps head-first in to the latest exciting thing just to get a rush."

4. Can it be the Inspirational - ENTP?

The Inspirational is the Bull Terrier

Henry Kissinger

Aka: The Professional Corrector; Noun: Invention; Method: The Deviser; No.1 Skillset: Innovating; All they seek is: Novelty.

▲ Virtue: Sincerity ▼ Vice (aka blindspot): Insencerity; Somewhat weird feature: The devil's advocate.
≈ Derogatory Tag: The Internet troller.
£ High School Stereotype: Almost set the school on fire in the science lab by mixing two substances the chemistry teacher specifically said not to mix. “Just to see what would happen.”
∃ True Stereotype & Surprising Characteristic: The debater and devil's advocate; Do not like to back people into corners with decisions.
♦ Always Up For: Irony.
∴ Personality: Ingenious.
✠ International Descriptor™ (Yiddish): Trepverter. A witty comeback you think of only when it is too late to use.
¿ Local Descriptor™ (P R of Aus): They answer the questions, question the answers and are too argumentative.
/ Unique Vibes™: Space; Energetic and Revolutionary.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Finds what's possible in what seems impossible.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Being on a leash.

At the Neutral level

Energetic and innovative, Inspirationals want to be as original as possible. They like exploring unusual theories and questioning social norms and traditions. They tend to come across as competitive and intellectual, skeptical of authority and anxious to be as independent as possible. Inspirationals are drawn to change and do not mind risking it all to get a higher reward. This tends to show up in their career choices where they are drawn to creative jobs that allow for a lot of variety and the possibility of big salaries without the security of a more traditional job.

The Inspirational is all or nothing when it comes to being charismatic. If they are being open, honest and passionate in any way, they are extremely charismatic. However, they can be very disengaged and quiet if disinterested.

Because Inspirationals are so drawn to new ideas and novelty, they can become easily bored once life gets repetitive or overly structured. They may behave impulsively or suddenly become scattered and distracted as they look for new options or inspiration. They are 'The auctioneer of fine goods about to be stolen'. If they can integrate introverted thinking into their outlook they are better able to stick with a task even when it gets a little monotonous. Inspirationals are skilled at troubleshooting and are good at coming up with unusual ways to solve complex problems. Challenges do not phase them and they tend to find a certain amount of chaos mentally stimulating and exciting.

Inspirationals tend to get along well with Investigators, Agents, Enhancers, Perfectionists, OTs, Practitioners, Achievers and Specialists but they may misjudge Directors, OTs, Appraisers and Practitioners as being inflexible and unoriginal. They may devalue their need for certainty and specificity and view them as uptight rather than grounded. They will start to be aware that they have some deficiencies in the sensing arena, but spending time here can make them feel demotivated and exhausted. As they grow and mature they tend to realise the advantages and strength of those previously misjudged.

In relationships, the Inspirational is curious, exploratory and eager to push boundaries. They approach relationships the way they approach everything else – with curiosity and an unquenchable enthusiasm to learn more. There is nothing more exciting than a person they cannot quite figure out and there is nothing more boring to them than someone they can. This type enjoys complicated, multi-dimensional partners who challenge them intellectually. Someone who is consistent to the point of rigidity means nothing to explore and learn from meaning that they will likely tire of them quickly. Boredom is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Inspirational will be very much attracted to work that permits them to be challenged and stimulated. Work that binds them to standard operating procedures will be ultimately frustrating and possibly stress-inducing.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To want to be famous; To say it is fun to watch people argue; To break rules they disagree with; To be the most sarcastic personality type; To enjoy rock music; To keep going because going back is too boring if get lost.

Least: To have fixed bedtime and wake up times; To shy away from risky or unpredictable situations; To like rules; To have to hide their power level; To put up with objective morality; To like being written off for being unorthodox.

Hidden talent: Community Mindedness

Rightly, the Inspirational is often stereotyped for their creative, entrepreneurial nature. But they are less known for their keen ability to bring people together in a meaningful way. A well developed Inspirational will make a natural leader who intuitively understands how to harness and unite the strengths of the people around them. In fact, it is this very trait that often helps this type excel at their creative and entrepreneurial ventures.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Be ready to debate everything, take nothing personally, challenge openly and do not impose rules.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: “I’m not obeying your stupid rule” Rebel.

Never ask an Inspirational or a Perfectionist to obey a stupid rule. They are the ones who will rebel by simply saying “NO!”. Introverted thinking analyzes everything for logical consistency and extraverted intuition can see other options - together they can easily find a better system. The weak extraverted feeling actually cares about other people and the ‘common good’ so they are likely to object about unethical rules too. The Inspirational is more likely to making a public show of their resistance.
The Inspirational with the inner strength of Introverted Sensing and Introverted Feeling demon can be very, very, stubborn, the unmovable mountain, if they do not feel like it, they are not doing it. They are more likely to resist stubbornly alone, and in private, but perhaps dominating chat groups and forums.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Inspirational might say:

"As a rule, I am very careful to be shallow and conventional where depth and originality are wasted."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a little about a lot squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

Among the oddities that the Inspirational is likely to possess may be their capacity to feel emotional and fuzzy while watching movies but in real life avoid dealing with that sappy stuff. They can indulge in the experience of emotional vulnerability vicariously through a fictional character but practicing that in the real world feels weirdly uncomfortable. They can troubleshoot and offer helpful solutions to others who are bereft and distressed but do not expect a whole lot in the way of emotional support because they see little point in going there.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"Do they even own anything besides that one t-shirt with a joke on it?"

Fashion sense: "Comfortable, studious, clever witty t-shirts during downtime."

Style précis: "Quirky, fun, and sometimes eccentric; loves to have fun with fashion."

Bright Colours: "Ironically, is wearing bright colours."

Dressage Risk: "A risk of not de-cluttering the extensive wardrobe."

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Inspirational pattern™:

"You are so much fun, so energetic, so many amazing ideas and exciting things happening! Your brain must be like a kaleidoscope. Unconventional thinker. Amazing."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Inspirational pattern™:

"Please stop fcuking debating every single word or noise or drop of saliva that comes out of my mouth. Please. You articulate, articulate, articulate and are too sensitive."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Inspirational pattern™:

"I see you as Machiavellian and sneaky. Therefore, my trust in you is non existant."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Inspirational pattern™:

"I think that you display some hubris, exaggerated pride or self-confidence, regarding your sense of originality and intellect. You are a bit quirky but take pride in the uniqueness and distinction of your character. While you are very social and engaging, you do not want to be seen as a lemming or just another follower of the herd. You push to break the form and deviate from the norm and, in doing so, seek to be recognized as a creative bellwether and an ingenious solver of complex problems. Many hipsters are probably Inspirationals with a love for sarcasm and irony both verbally and visually as expressed through the choice of attire they wear."

E. Hunter What the Inspirational pattern HATES™: Narrow-mindedness.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Change it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

"The tactician with indisputable logic who gets off by being a devil's advocate on any topic."

5. Can it be the Persuader - ENFJ?

The Persuader is the Boxer

Nelson Mandela

Aka: The Pied Piper; Noun: Charisma; Method: The Educator; No.1 Skillset: Mentoring; All they seek is: Harmony.

▲ Virtue: Benevolence ▼ Vice (aka blindspot): Cruelty; Somewhat weird feature: Super controlling.
≈ Derogatory Tag: The emotionally manipulative cult leader.
£ High School Stereotype: The externally organized teacher's pet together with being the internal shitshow.
∃ True Stereotype & Surprising Characteristic: 10/10 give motivational speeches. Sensitive to actually hurting people's feelings; Can be very stubborn and adament about things.
♦ Always Up For: Cult leadership.
∴ Personality: Empathetic.
✠ International Descriptor™ (Kivila - Papua New Guinea): Mokita. The powerful unspoken truth that everyone knows, but no one wishes to talk about openly, for fear of disrupting social harmony.
¿ Local Descriptor™ (P R of Aus):
/ Unique Vibes™: Royalty; Bold and Revolutionary.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Brings love where there is hate.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Others not listening to them.

At the Neutral level

Insightful and empathetic, Persuaders are usually eager to get to know people and make a difference in the world. They are usually organised, expressive, gregarious and helpful, taking on the needs of others all-too-quickly and possibly forgetting their own needs in the process. They like creating a sense of team spirit and enjoy collaborating with other people towards a common goal. They can be very skilled motivators, supporting people in their journey and taking on an maternal or paternal persona. However, sometimes they may push this too far and become bossy, meddling or controlling. They feel like they have such a clear idea of how things should be handled that alternate views and distractions can annoy them.
Main characteristics: When healthy: Outgoing, altruistic, helpful, friendly, organized, charismatic, warm, enthusiastic, future oriented, optimistic. Being with them is like stepping into warm sunshine.
When unhealthy: Overthinking, frazzled, obsessed with details, bossy, self righteous, anxious, needy. A ball of emotion with little self confidence and questioning everything.

No. 1 for charisma. The Persuader can just talk and people hang on their every word, they are full time charismatic and are all 'force of personality'. They are the mediators, ahead of the Promoter.

Effective and hard-working, they pride themselves on their ability to get results and organise people well. However, if a situation arises where they can not find consensus, or if there is any interpersonal conflict, they may struggle to make a decision. They want to make sure everyone is on board and is of the same mind. If there is any confusion or disharmony then they can spend a lot of time trying to establish unity rather than move forward even when it is best to do so. They can also overlook practicalities in their effort to reach a goal, seeing clearly the big picture and where they want to be but missing small, important details.

In relationships, the Persuader is usually very good with people and very skilled at sensing what other people want or need. They tend to be highly empathetic and insightful about the motivations and feelings of others and are good at providing therapeutic support. However, they may struggle with Directors and Objective Thinkers. They can see them as needlessly harsh, uncaring or pushy. Directors and Objective Thinkers, in turn, may find them overly concerned with others or overly-sensitive. With growth and maturity they become more aware of their blind spots and more open to accepting help and wisdom from their opposite types.
They live to give to others. This generous pattern serves a well of wisdom and support for those around them and in a relationship they thrive on feeling needed. If their partner refuses to open up and share their struggles with them, they may feel as though they have no purpose within the partnership. And that perceived lack of purpose will be romantically unsatisfying and will likely cause an election to leave the relationship. Feeling unneeded is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Persuader loves human dynamics both in the practical and abstract sense. They have a natural talent for understanding how a group of people needs to feel in order to create change. When at their peak they create and foster supportive cultures across families, communities and other groups of people.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To know how others are feeling just by looking at them; To defend someone who is being bullied; To say they forgive easily; To believe in the concept of a “soul mate”; To be vegetarians or vegans; To keep going because does not want to admit being lost if get lost.

Least: To feel restless when they do not have Internet access; To like having unresolved conflict; To put up with 'closed off-ed-ness'; To like unfairness; To see societal marginalisation.

Hidden talent: Visionary Streak

Rightly, the Persuader is often stereotyped for their caring and giving nature, but they are under appreciated for their keen ability to analyze social issues in depth and formulate powerful visions of a better future. This gives the Social Justice Warrior behaviour. These types are incredibly capable of formulating ideas for great change, which they use their people skills to harness and communicate. While we think of them as selfless and personable, we often grossly underestimate what is brewing beneath the surface of that kindness and which ground-breaking visions they are capable of nurturing and sharing.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Listen to them, trust them and take all your problems to them.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The “Let my people go” Rebel.

Look at pretty much every largely peaceful social resistance movement and it was probably led by a Persuader or Investigator. Nelson Mandela, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jesus. They are the ones who take an ethical stand of ‘this is not right’ with their extraverted feeling but have the vision to lead their people to the promised land with the introverted intuition.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Persuader might say:

"I freed one thousand slaves and I could have freed one thousand more but they did not know that they were slaves themselves."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a lot about very little squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

A Persuader's oddity may be their excessive concern with excellence. They may be overly conscious of the quality of anything they author or produce and how that might reflect back on them. They want to maintain a certain standard or image they hold of themselves and may actively avoid associating themselves with or addressing things that do not serve this idea or possibly sully it somehow. Furthermore, they may find that they have a tendency to read and reread what they write many times over constantly adding and modifying to “excellence”. They may spend (or waste) a copious amount of time on things that most people would never notice or care about anyway.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"A mixture of classy and showy with a desire to accessorise."

Fashion sense: "Romantic, appropriate, symbolic accents. Soft, oversized and comfortable at home."

Style précis: "Bold but composed, deliberate, not afraid to stand out from the crowd."

Bright Colours: "Wears bright colours occasionally."

Dressage Risk: "Has an issue with the pressure of being a trendsetter."

Narrative of the Compás moral™:

These optimists can see potential in all patterns and are inclined to be merciful and compassionate. They can sometimes show Compás moral weakness regarding their own personal affairs but, on the public stage, they seek to be the benevolent king or queen for all people. They are reluctant to take a hard stance on anything controversial or polarizing and will often seek to take the position that fosters unity and goodwill.

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Persuader pattern™:

"You are amazing. You are like the gooey stuff in a cinnamon roll; you are ridiculously sweet and just want to hold everyone together. You are the mentor with a predisposition to interfere."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Persuader pattern™:

"Your energy sometimes overwhelms me a bit. You might want to tone it down a notch if you see me leaning backward and start blinking really fast."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Persuader pattern™:

"I see you as selfless with a sense of responsibility, dutiful with substantial friendship but mark you down a peg as you are an interfering swine! Therefore, my trust in you is reasonably high."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Persuader pattern™:

"I think that you are self sacrificing and noble but may at times get smug about how much you give and the magnitude of your contributions when compared to that of others. You amy overrate your contributions. Much like an Investigator, you can cultivate a messiah complex where you feel the need to take upon yourself the role of moral arbiter and teacher of higher principles. In your effort to live up to the high standards you set for yourself, together with the pristine image you want to present, you may develop a high opinion of your values. You may appear to ride around on your self-righteous high horse while, in reality, not quite living up to the principles that you espouse."

E. Hunter What the Persuader pattern HATES™: Harshness.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Teach it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

"Logical."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

6. Can it be the Appraiser - ESFJ

The Appraiser is the Great Dane

Sarah Palin

Aka: The Zach Morris; Noun: Spotlight; Method: The Supplier; No.1 Skillset: Facilitating; All they seek is: Closure.

▲ Virtue: Care-giving ▼ Vice (aka blindspot): Care-taking; Somewhat weird feature: Needs to be watched.
≈ Derogatory Tag: The gossipy mother from the 1950's.
£ High School Stereotype: High maintenance yet impeccably groomed.
∃ True Stereotype & Surprising Characteristic: Gets really anxious about taking care of people; Eccels at scathing remarks.
♦ Always Up For: Parent-teacher meetings.
∴ Personality: Conscientious.
✠ International Descriptor™ (Spanish): Duende. The mysterious power that a work of art has to deeply move a person.
¿ Local Descriptor™ (P R of Aus): They are the hosts and hostesses of the world and engage in gossip.
/ Unique Vibes™: Beachy; Bold and Supportive.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Brings together those who are apart.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Others avoiding them.

At the Neutral level

Appraisers are detail oriented, hard-working and sensible. They enjoy creating a sense of team spirit in whatever they do and they get a sense of satisfaction from organising a group to get a project done. Their hard working nature is often inspiring to others, but they can also become frustrated and judgmental of others who are not working as hard, or in the same way, as they are. They like to be in an environment where everyone has the same goals, standards and work ethic. It can be difficult for them to blend with Promoters, Agents, Inspirationals, Perfectionists, Results, Achievers, Counselors and Specialists who they tend to see as lazy or distractible. They may also struggle with Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals, Perfectionists, Directors, OTs Pesults and Achievers because they cannot understand their logical detachment from the needs of others. They are not the types to directly give out criticism and may instead feel that they need to manage things on their own if projects are not being done to their standard.

Appraisers truly enjoy helping people and tend to put the cares of others before their own. They are very observant of other people’s physical and emotional needs and are skilled at creating an atmosphere where everyone feels accepted and comfortable. When they are on their own, Appraisers enjoy pleasant daily rituals that make them feel secure. For some, these rituals involve hot tea and good books, others enjoy a quiet evening walk, but whatever the ritual, they enjoy the consistency and repetition of it. Disruption of these routines and rituals can make them feel out of sorts.

Appraisers have very strong personal convictions and will generally put these above objective logic. Staying true to their values and beliefs is very important to them and they enjoy surrounding themselves with people who share the same perspectives. Creating a sense of community is something that they are very good at.

In relationships, the Appraiser takes their love live seriously. This organised type always has one eye on the future and they need a partner who can keep up. They plan for the long-term – so if you cannot see yourself in their future, you can see yourself out of their lives. They do not have the patience for flakiness or uncertainty – if they are in a relationship they are all in and they expect the same from their partner. Unwillingness to commit is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Appraiser is generous and loyal and who tends to be very traditional and who values their family and friends above all else. They give freely of themselves, often committing large amounts of time to work in programs sponsored by charity, community or religious organisations that serve their communities.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To believe most of their actions have a positive impact on other people’s lives; To be satisfied with what they have achieved so far in their lives; To consider themselves patriotic; To leave mentally challenging tasks for the evening; To find it easy to read other people’s body language; To go back to the start if get lost.

Least: To enjoy heavy metal music; To expect the worst; To enjoy being disliked; To put themselves before others, particularly family; To put up with know alls; To put up with selfishness.

Hidden talent: Practicality

Rightly, the Appraiser is often stereotyped for being a warm and caring person, but their practical nature is often overlooked and undervalued. Indeed, these types can often rival their thinking counterparts in their ability to plan, conserve resources and manage their lifestyles effectively. They are often extremely strategic when it comes to allocating their time, money and energy. While their motivation for being practical may differ from that of their thinking counterparts, they can certainly keep up in terms of base practicality.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Allow them to mother you and in return care about them. Take them seriously when they talk about their other relationships (friends, family) and understand that all of these relationships matter a lot to them.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The non Rebel.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Appraiser might say:

"Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: 'What!'."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a little about a lot squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

One of the oddities with the Appraiser is that they may seem very glib due to the fact that a lot of what they say and do is fashioned by a socially acceptable persona that they want to project. They want to be liked and seen as charming and to make people happy and impressed by them. They can seem fake since they can seem too agreeable and rarely take a hard stance against other people’s ideas on the basis of real logic. They tend to echo politically correct attitudes and views that seem to treat all perspectives as valid or deserving of consideration in order not to alienate or exclude anyone.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"Practical, appealing and comfortable."

Fashion sense: "Classic, traditional, comfortable, coordinated."

Style précis: "Understated, collected, opts for clothes that are smart but easy to wear."

Bright Colours: "Is currently wearing bright colours."

Dressage Risk: "Finding a look that they can own."

Narrative of the Compás moral™:

Are heavily influenced by the values of their group or community. Because they are so externally focussed, they may fail to develop a strong compás moral code of their own. Their code is largely based on what is deemed appropriate and acceptable by institutions and social standards. Because of this, they may be susceptible to blindly following bad behaviour or dubious practices should they find themselves within a group where corrupted values are the norm.

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Appraiser pattern™:

"I truly admire the way you seem to remember the birthday of every single person on the Earth and find the time to make fully decorated, professional bakery level cakes for them. You are most likely to be satisfied with your work and have the highest stress-coping abilities."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Appraiser pattern™:

"Just stop worrying so much about social status. If some basic bitch did not like the aforementioned cakes, do not lose any sleep over it."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Appraiser pattern™:

"I see the wind changing directions, you seeking friendship by interest, being reliant on other’s approval to validate your self worth, not being accountable and easily able to betray a commitment. Therefore, my trust in you is low."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Appraiser pattern™:

"I think that you may display smugness with respect to your commitment to upholding traditions and maintaining relationships be it friends, family or lovers. You are enthusiastic and want the same level of loyalty and support that you put into your relationships. You have a desire to help and to be of service in some capacity. You know that you do a lot and they may feel shafted if you feel others do not make the same effort. While quite tolerant and accepting of others, you may view yourself as being the standard for how to manage relationships. You may sometimes feel as though you are the only one who cares and must do most of the heavy lifting in keeping relations with others running smoothly and harmoniously."

E. Hunter What the Appraiser pattern HATES™: Conversation dominators.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Be content with it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

"Innovative."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

"Has anyone told you that you talk a bit too much?"

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

"The chatty and sassy social butterfly with the ability to instantly become everyone's best friend."

7. Can it be the Promoter - ENFP?

The Promoter is the Golden Retriever

Ellen DeGeneres

Aka: The First-World Savior; Noun: Curiosity; Method: The Motivator; No.1 Skillset: Envisioning and inspiring; All they seek is: Connection.

▲ Virtue: Charity ▼ Vice (aka blindspot): Depravity; Somewhat weird feature: Drops friendships as if they are hot.
≈ Derogatory Tag: The manic, shallow cinematic creature; the flake.
£ High School Stereotype: Seems like a caffeine powered energy machine, but will drop the most insightful truth bomb at the most unexpected moment.
∃ True Stereotype & Surprising Characteristic: Rambles an awful lot; Takes things not as personally as you might think and places honesty over placating.
♦ Always Up For: Amphetamines.
∴ Personality: Imaginative.
✠ International Descriptor™ (Dutch): Pretoogjies. The eyes of a chuckling person who is up to benign mischief.
¿ Local Descriptor™ (P R of Aus): They give life an extra squeeze and are too needy.
/ Unique Vibes™: Magic; Energetic and Supportive.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Inspires those who have given up.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. The Objective Thinker.

At the Neutral level

A Promoter does not have a train of thought. They have seven trains on four tracks that narrowly avoid each other when the paths cross and all the conductors are screaming. A Promoter is detached from consequence.

Promoters are able to channel their dominant function, Extraverted Intuition, into their daily lives. They have an optimistic "anything is possible" attitude and enjoy innovating, daydreaming and brainstorming new ideas for the future. They are stimulated by change and are not afraid of taking risks as long as they feel they have the right team to back them up. Saying "no" can be hard for them, especially if they are being presented with exciting initiatives and possibilities. They can become overextended and then forget about obligations, struggling with impulsive, unfocussed, distractible tendencies.

The Promoter has their moments of charisma. They can be extremely charismatic when genuinely making contact with someone. They spend a lot of time being too sulky, zany or disinterested. They may suddenly drop friends or go for unexplained long periods with no contact.

Promoters tend to be strong mediators and are usually able to see many different sides to an issue. They are good at giving people space during conflict and taking their time to hear everyone’s point of view. During this they can look for points of consensus between enemies and their peacemaking skills are often valued. However, they may struggle with very different personality types, seeing Directors, OTs, Appraisers, Practitioners, Results, Achievers, Counselors and Specialists as lacking vision or imagination and Directors, OTs, Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals, Perfectionists, Results and Achievers as needlessly detached or uncaring. But at the same time they realise that they have some blind spots in these areas and may try to hold off on judging these types prematurely. They tend to find focusing on sensing areas of life draining and de-motivating. The would rather consider new possibilities and alternatives rather than day-to-day upkeep and personal health. This may result in them forgetting to get enough sleep or enough adequate nutrition. They may also routinely forget to pay bills on time or change the oil in their car.

In relationships, the Promoter has big visions of what they want to experience in life and they are not interested in discarding those visions for anyone else. Though they are happy to accommodate and incorporate a partner into their lives, they have no interest in a relationship that is going to hold them back. They need an open-minded partner who is happy to explore and adventure their way through life together. Having limits placed on their freedom is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Promoter's main characteristics place them in their pursuit of the novel, their strong sense of the possible and their use of outstanding intuitive powers. At the same time, they have a warmth and fun with people and generally are usually skilled in handling people.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To believe they have a lucky number; To have a lot of varied hobbies; To find it easy to laugh at themselves; To risk their life to save the life of their pet; To celebrate Halloween; To find it easy to relate to people they do not have much in common with; To enjoy jazz music; To be vegetarians or vegans; To keep going because going back is too boring if get lost.

Least: To finish anything; To see their ideas being stolen; To like someone question their sincerity; To have to use subjective logic; To concentrate for long periods; To accept facts and data; To put up with unchallenged beliefs.

Hidden talent: Philosophical Insight

Rightly, the Promoter is often stereotyped as the fun-loving social butterfly who is always jetting off on a new adventure. In reality, they are deeply philosophical individuals who spend a great deal of time reading about and reflecting upon the meaning of life. These types often have incredibly profound insights to offer regarding the human condition, which they discuss and dissect with others in depth. Contrary to their fun-loving reputation, they take life quite seriously, and their insight is often underestimated. This is the Social Justice Warrior aspect.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Let them talk about random stuff, be open minded, accept that they can be both silly and mature. Do not try to control or change them; but there comes a point. Be authentic.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The “Che Guvera” Rebel.

Both Che Guvera and Fidel Castro are Promoters. They are the charismatic ‘build a new world for the community’, idealists and dreamers. Introverted feeling has a strong personal vision of what is good and bad and extraverted intuition sees that a better world is possible. The extraverted Promoter is going to be in the vanguard of the Revolution that their 'feel' is right. The Agent is less likely to be up on the barricades, but they are probably going to be the one in the cool cafe writing songs or poems to drive the revolution.
Even in more ordinary times, it is highly possible to see Promoters and Agents involved in some radical environmental or political group.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Promoter might say:

"I think of life itself now as a wonderful play that I have written for myself and so my purpose is to have the utmost fun playing my part."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a little about a lot squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

The Promoter is odd by nature. Whether intended or unintended, they will say and do things that are weird and unorthodox because they are creative and clever. Among their oddities may be their penchant for being silly or funny at inappropriate times. They may have trouble switching off comedy mode and being serious. They are empathetic but sometimes they just do not know how to respond except by trying to lighten things up rather than commiserate. They are idealists after all and may tend to look at even negative things mostly from a matter of perspective.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"People may think that they pick their clothes out with their eyes shut. But the striped outfit with polka dot trimmings was actually laid out the night before."

Fashion sense: "Individualistic, non-traditional, catered to personal taste."

Style précis: "Quirky, fun, and sometimes eccentric; loves to have fun with fashion."

Bright Colours: "Is currently wearing bright colours."

Dressage Risk: "A never-ending quest for the latest and hottest trends."

Narrative of the Compás moral™:

They can be impish provocateurs but they are also champions of individual liberty and honest expression. Because of this, they are very wired to be understanding of people rather than judgmental. They can see the positive potential in some of the worst types of people and may feel most of them are redeemable. They want to be accepted and appreciated for who they authentically are and they likewise treat other people with the same open-minded and friendly attitude. Because they are also fiercely loyal to their location, friends and loved ones, they may sometimes be very biased in who or what they defend.

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Promoter pattern™:

"Where do I even start? You are amazing. You can fall in love with literally anything from pet rocks to that cashier at the supermarket who smiled at you once five months ago and that is pretty inspiring. You like understanding people and the meaning of things."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Promoter pattern™:

"Please stop trying to overwhelm both yourself and me with your own emotions. See if you can use some facts. Please commit to being a human being and stop the incessant flirting without any indication of stopping. Just finish something that you start and be accountable for your actions and stop playing the victim all the time. You can be the 200% evil one."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Promoter pattern™:

"I see you as flighty, easily bored and observe that you never finish anything. Therefore, my trust in you is non existent."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Promoter pattern™:

"I think that you often have a strong desire to be liked that compels you to seek popularity. The more popular and appreciated you feel, the more secure you feel. Sometimes, you may measure your self esteem in terms of how validated you are and when you are lavished with love and attention, it can go to your head and the attention can become addictive in similar fashion to a drug. Your huge ego feeds on this and you are likely to pride yourself on the prestige and social cachet you are able to obtain through your charm and wit. Despite your generally friendly disposition, you may develop a sense of entitlement on account of your power of personality. That tends to be offputting to others. So is your lack of ability to finish things."

E. Hunter What the Promoter pattern HATES™: Rigidity; being held to account.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Nurture it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

"The curious hyper kid with a seemingly endless amount of energy and crazy random ideas."

The Counselor is the Poodle

Sir Richard Starkey (Ringo Starr)

Aka: The Flibbertigibbet; Noun: Spontaneity; Method: The Demonstrator; No.1 Skillset: Motivating; All they seek is: Company.

∃ True Stereotype & Surprising Characteristic: Party animal; Needs more time alone than you might think.

✠ International Descriptor™ (Norwegian): Utepils. To sit outside on a sunny day and enjoy a beer.
¿ Local Descriptor™ (P R of Aus): They are a surprise, they love a surprise and are too impulsive.
/ Unique Vibes™: Spiritual; Calm and Revolutionary.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Makes lively what has become dull.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Others not paying attention to them.

At the Neutral level

Action-oriented, enthusiastic and resourceful, Counselors have a lot of gifts to bring to the world. They tend to adopt an "anything is possible" attitude and bring a lot of charisma and energy into whatever they do. Their problem can be that they get so excited about a project that they ignore any potential downsides or ignore limitations that might make it fail in the long-run. They like people to get on board with them and join them in their enthusiasm and when their eagerness is not matched they can feel frustrated and annoyed. Overall, Counselors are good at creating a sense of team spirit and camaraderie. They are also skilled at spotting details and observations that others miss. Because of their flexibility and adaptability they tend to appear ready-for-anything and are remarkably resilient.

The Counselor can be glamorous but shallow when it comes to charisma. People tend to want to be like them, but really they are not massively charismatic.

Counselors can be very effective in the workplace if they have a certain amount of freedom and flexibility. They know how to be effective mediators and team players and they can execute quite easily when needed. However, they tend to be de-motivated by strict schedules and a lot of time spent analysing potential negatives or downsides. If they are not inspired at their job they tend to become distracted, impulsive and critical.

Counselors tend to get along easily with a wide variety of people. They can struggle with Persuaders, Investigators, Promoters, Agents, Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals, Perfectionists too unrealistic and theoretical, and Directors, OTs, Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals, Perfectionists, Results and Achievers as too uncaring or detached. However, the more they grow and mature the more they realise the value in intuition and thinking perspectives. They will try to integrate these perspectives so that they can make more balanced decisions.

In relationships, the Counselor is considered the ultimate 'people-people' pattern in a relationship. It is incredibly important for this pattern to be able to maintain a wide, active social circle outside of their relationship – and a partner who wants to place limits on that circle is not going to last long. This free-spirited type needs to feel connected to a community. A jealous or controlling partner will not work. Having limits placed on their socialising is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Counselor radiates attractive warmth and optimism. Smooth, witty, charming, clever, valuable and open to the environment. They are great fun to be with and are the most generous of all the patterns.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To spend more time outdoors than indoors; To enjoy pop music; To always try to look on the bright side; To enjoy team projects; To say they are good at cheering people up; To keep going because does not want to admit being lost if get lost.

Least: To believe their country is superior to others; To accept boundaries; To be in a position where they have to use their judgment; To be in a position where they cannot express themselves; To put up with 'plainness'.

Hidden talent: Resourcefulness and Intelligence

Rightly, the Counselor is often stereotyped as being outgoing, excitable and adventurous. What they are less known for is being sharp, entrepreneurial and resourceful. They can spot a killer opportunity a mile away and they are masters of connecting themselves to the resources they need to make their plans come to fruition. While they regularly receive credit for their social skills, their resourcefulness and entrepreneurial bent are often incredibly underestimated.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Be spontaneous or at least appreciate their spontaneity. Do not take their generosity for granted. Understand their need to be social and friendly, without giving them labels.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The “Legal fun” Rebel.

Both the Counselor and the Specialist have got the same passion to be out doing things and having fun but are more law abiding. There are times that their introverted feeling means they are going to do what they fcuking feel like and no-one is allowed to tell them they cannot.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Counselor might say:

"I wish some nights lasted forever."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a lot about very little squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

The Counselor can become a stimulus junkie just like the Results and this may be channelled in similar ways. However, the Counselor's desire to saturate themselves with experiences may be emotionally driven. They develop a strange appetite for weird foods and are likely to be adventurous in their eating habits. They also like surprises and testing out things that have not been done before. Their enthusiasm and courage also seems to be amplified when they know it will get a fun reaction out of people.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"They put all their artistry into their outfit. How did they find socks to match their earring(s)?"

Fashion sense: "Individualistic, perfectly coordinated, comfy but sexy, looks effortless and easy to move in."

Style précis: "Daring, extravagant, loud; use clothes to draw attention to themselves."

Bright Colours: "Is currently wearing bright colours."

Dressage Risk: "A need for the approval of others."

E. Hunter What the Counselor pattern HATES™: People who think that they have figured them out.

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Counselor pattern™:

"You can be super fun and always everywhere at once, most likely dancing and singing and wearing the newest, cutest fashion trends. You are the life of the party."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Counselor pattern™:

"Calm the fcuk down sometimes."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Counselor pattern™:

"I see the wind changing directions, you seeking friendship by interest, being reliant on other’s approval to validate your self worth, not being accountable and easily able to betray a commitment. Therefore, my trust in you is low."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Counselor pattern™:

"I think that, due to your love of attention, you may be slightly smug regarding how interesting a person you believe yourself to be. Others my not rank you so high. You thrive on admiration and praise for either appearance, personality, work or anything directly linked to you. When you do not receive this attention, you can display immature and petty behaviour. Ay your best you are are very charming, charismatic and endlessly entertaining. You pride yourself on your popularity and whatever material symbols of status that you can acquire."

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Spice it up.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

"Pensive."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

"The outgoing adventurer who would do anything to be on centre stage just to feel alive."

9. Can it be the Specialist - ISFP

The Specialist is the Saint Bernard

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Aka: The Esoteric Artist; Noun: Discovery; Method: The Synthesiser; No.1 Skillset: Creation; All they seek is: Passion.

▲ Virtue: Diligence ▼ Vice (aka blindspot): Idleness; Somewhat weird feature: Stalks social media.
≈ Derogatory Tag: The hippie artist who makes daisy chains and smokes weed.
£ High School Stereotype: The person that will get offended by something you said, but you will not know until everyone hates you 'for attacking their friend'.
∃ True Stereotype & Surprising Characteristic: Cares a lot about people and really into fashion; Is actually good, gentle and kind.
♦ Always Up For: Pop culture.
∴ Personality: Committed.
✠ International Descriptor™ (Swedish): Njuta. Much more than joy to have a deep appreciation of something. To have a profound experience of appreciation and gratitude.
¿ Local Descriptor™ (P R of Aus): They love living life and are aloof.
/ Unique Vibes™: Music; Shy and Revolutionary.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Splashes colour onto a grey world.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Being like everyone else.

At the Neutral level

Specialists are value-driven, practical and supportive individuals. They want to make a real difference for the people they care about and look for hands on, tangible ways to take care of others. They enjoy getting to know people one-on-one, but they also crave a lot of alone time for creativity and exploration. In solitude, they enjoy listening to music, reading books or watching movies that resonate with their emotional experience.

Specialists can be stoic and unreadable to people they do not know very well and can even come across as intimidating. They do not feel a need to be liked or approved of by everyone and, if someone comes across as disgusting or distasteful by reason of excess, manipulative or overly-needy a Specialist might just avoid that person and make no attempt to instigate communication. While they prefer harmony to conflict, they do not feel like they are responsible for maintaining social equilibrium. They are okay with keeping to themselves and entertaining their own thoughts and ideas.

Specialists like a relatively spontaneous, yet stable, lifestyle. They enjoy having time for leisure and relaxation and will get frustrated if their alone time is frequently impeded on. If they feel too caged in by people they can become uncharacteristically critical, sarcastic and confrontational. They also hold very strong values and can come across as morally superior if they sense that someone is attacking one of those values. They can struggle to see opposing perspectives or may read into someone’s intentions in an inaccurate way during conflict.

Overall, Specialists are conscientious, creative, pragmatic and dedicated. They want to live a life of integrity and they desire to create positive, beautiful experiences for the people they love. They can struggle with Persuaders, Investigators, Promoters, Agents, Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals and Perfectionists because they might find them too abstract or "unrealistic" and they can misperceive Directors, OTs, Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals, Perfectionists, Results and Achievers as selfish or uncaring. As they grow and mature they are able to realise the benefits of the perspectives of these types mentioned and become more balanced as a result. In the same way, they can offer Sensing and Feeling perspectives to their opposites.

In relationships, the Specialist is wildly creative and difficult to get to know well. More than anything else, this pattern wants a partner who takes the time to get to know them on a deep level and accept them exactly as they are. If they feel uncomfortable or unable to express who they truly are within a relationship, they will see little use in continuing it. Being unable to express their true selves is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Specialist continually weighs the situational worth or importance of everything. They approach matters first from the point of view of what is really important and of value. It is as if they have a whole range of values in mind and see subtle distinctions in the relative worth of different actions, people, projects, commitments, et cetera.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To be productive late in the evening; To say their creativity comes from the world around them; To pick music-related extracurricular activities at school; To prefer print to cursive when writing; To be the most forgiving personality pattern; To try to go back but cannot remember the way if get lost; To think that this time they have truly outdone themselves.

Least: To take action without procrastination; To accept being told that they have to live in a certain way; To put up with a lack of freedom; To put up with meanness; To be artistically stifled.

Hidden talent: Intuition

Rightly, the Specialist is often stereotyped as being passionate, creative and artistic. But a lesser-known facet of their personality is the deep, intuitive connection they feel to the world around them. They are keen observers of their environment, which means they are also quick to recognize patterns and predict events prior to their unfolding. These types can often call out people’s motivations or desires with an uncanny accuracy that is usually attributed solely to intuitive types. But they have earned a reputation as the most intuitive sensors for a reason. Their emotional intelligence combined with their careful observation and analysis puts them a cut above the rest in terms of intuiting abilities.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Have refined artistic and musical taste. Do not try to control or change them; but there comes a point.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The “Legal fun” Rebel.

Both the Specialist and the Counselor have got the same passion to be out doing things and having fun but more law abiding. There are times that their introverted feeling means they are going to do what they fcuking feel like and no-one is allowed to tell them they cannot.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Specialist might say:

"Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a lot about very little squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

An oddity of the Specialist may be their proclivity for having multiple things going on at once. Some have stated that they like to multitask and do things such as drawing pictures in between commercials while watching television. They also claim to love sitting on the floor especially with their legs crossed and also speaking in funny accents. Some Specialists are likely to be hipster-types.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"One look will tell you what their interests are or what social clique they are in."

Fashion sense: "Individualistic, perfectly coordinated, comfy but sexy, looks effortless and easy to move in."

Style précis: "Innovative, confident, creative; often pioneer a unique style that others try to emulate."

Bright Colours: "Wears bright colours occasionally."

Dressage Risk: "Overwhelmed by their own creativity and can never quite agree with themselves on what look works for them.

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Specialist pattern™:

"Is every single one of you a gifted artist? You are so creative it is actually irritating. You are so attuned to sensory stimulation."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Specialist pattern™:

"Sometimes I’m afraid I’ll stress you out if I sneeze too loud. You are not a leader."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Specialist pattern™:

"I see you as arty-farty. Therefore, my trust in you is neutral, at best."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Specialist pattern™:

"I think that, as you have such a strong style, you may display smugness regarding your sense of taste. You have distinct preferences and a strong response to sensory details and in judging what is best aesthetically or otherwise. You may believe their sensibilities to be more sophisticated and qualitatively better than that of others. You often have an artistic bent and you like to add your creative flair to whatever you do. You put a lot of energy into the projects in which they are truly passionate. You may be easy going and friendly but may exhibit hipster-like hubris and fancy yourself as being in a class of your own when it comes to style."

E. Hunter What the Specialist pattern HATES™: Others finishing their sentences.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Beautify it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

"Rational."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

"I understand that you do not want to label our relationship, but I would like to know where we stand."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

"The independent artist who only cares about expressing their inner self to the world."

10. Can it be the Investigator - INFJ?

The Investigator is the Greyhound

Adolf Hitler

Aka: The Unicorn; Noun: Compassion; Method: The Guider; No.1 Skillset: Foresight; All they seek is: Understanding.

▲ Virtue: Integrity ▼ Vice (aka blindspot): Corruption; Somewhat weird feature: Is really intense.
≈ Derogatory Tag: The depressed activist whom no-one understands.
£ High School Stereotype: Knows everyone’s secrets but will not tell anyone.
∃ True Stereotype & Surprising Characteristic: Will stare into your soul and try to discover your essence; Incredible goofball who likes to have fun.
♦ Always Up For: Inspirational pattern folk (ENTP).
∴ Personality: Decisive.
✠ International Descriptor™ (Yaghen - Tierra del Fuego): Mamihlapinatapei. A wordless, yet meaningful, look between two people who desire to initiate something but are both reluctant to start.
¿ Local Descriptor™ (P R of Aus): They are an inspiration to others and are too private.
/ Unique Vibes™: Mysterious; Calm and Passive.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Guides those who are lost.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Others being 'better' than them.

At the Neutral level

Imaginative and insightful, Investigators have a knack for picking up on long-range implications and possibilities. They enjoy toying with concepts, exploring theories and organising their life to achieve their goals. However, their single-mindedness and idealism can also make them blind to details that detract from their vision. They can lose sight of their health, their daily needs, or nitty-gritty responsibilities like paying the bills or keeping up with laundry. To others, they tend to seem empathetic and creative, but also prone to outbursts of "artistic temperament" and perfectionism. They can struggle to explain their vision and their unique way of doing things and, as a result, they may feel that they have to do everything themselves rather than enlist the help of others. They can also become overwhelmed by their less-developed auxiliary function, Extraverted Feeling. When this happens they may take on the needs of other people too excessively and burn themselves out in the process.

With charisma, the Investigator is very quiet until roused. With a cause they can be one of the most charismatic personality types you can meet, when they know what is right and they are going to fix it. At all other times, they mostly avoid contact with those they do not know well.

In relationships, the Investigator deeply craves connection with others and a sense of understanding and companionship. They like working with small teams towards a goal and can be very sensitive to interpersonal dynamics. They often appear attentive, caring and emotionally supportive. At the same time, they can become frustrated with a world that never seems to align with their idealised vision. They may have unrealistic expectations of people and fall into bouts of melancholy and isolation. They may also struggle with people with opposite preferences, seeing Directors, OTs, Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals, Perfectionists, Results and Achievers types as uncaring or cold and Promoters, Agents, Inspirationals, Perfectionists, Results, Achievers, Counselors and Specialists types as lazy or unfocussed. The more growth and maturity the more they realise that they have things they can learn from their opposite types. Integrating opposing views in small doses is one of the ways they can better develop their own type. Have difficulty leaving a bad relationship which is a deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Investigator cares passionately about people and desires to put everyone at ease in their presence. Because of this, they are sometimes mistaken as extraverted. They may have a hard time keeping still during an awkward silence or ignoring someone who seems left out. They want to make sure everyone feels comfortable, listened to and accepted. They simultaneously feel a need to be alone to process information and recover after being in social situations. This can create confusion for people who know them because, after spending much time with others, the Investigator might need to retreat into their own environment for days or even weeks.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To be humble in victory; To proofread their writing 3 times or more; To believe that modern human beauty standards are unrealistic; To say they have many secrets no one else knows; To find it difficult to let go of past mistakes; To go back to the start if get lost; To be vegetarians or vegans; To act as if they are basically a psychic.

Least: To read the texts of a loved one without their permission; To drive faster than most other drivers; To like to feel forced; To have a situation where there are misunderstandings; To be in a situation surrounded by conflict; To be in a situation when people intentionally lack perspective.

Hidden talent: Reason

Rightly, the Investigator is often stereotyped as highly sensitive and deeply in tune with their emotional atmosphere. And while these traits are certainly not absent from the Investigator's psyche, they almost always come second to what is done best, which is perspective shifting and analytical reasoning. They are intuitives first, which means their natural state is one of contemplation and analysis. Many people would doubtlessly be shocked to find out that these empathetic types can actually be quite cold and detached in their initial method of reasoning. They seek truth and understanding at all costs. And in order to arrive at the truths that will help them to make things better for others, they must first understand every perspective they can conceive of - even the cold, inhumane and detached ones. This is the Social Justice Warrior aspect.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Trust them, make serious effort to understand them (even though they may feel they are beyond understanding). Should they do something for you, reciprocate it. Be independent and definitely be kind and be scientific.

Hidden talent: Compassion

The Investigator ia compassionate and warm but that does not mean that they do not care about logic and reason. They can actually excel in the sciences and anything which involves them having to use their inner minds. They have rich inner thought processes and this unique insight is what helps them discover details and facts about which others would be likely to miss out. They enjoy combining their sense of creativity with their ability to see the truth in things and this helps them to come up with results and ideas in a rather impressive manner.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The “Let my people go” Rebel.

Look at pretty much every largely peaceful social resistance movement and it was probably led by an Investigator or Persuader. Nelson Mandela, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jesus. They are the ones who take an ethical stand of ‘this is not right’ with their extraverted feeling but have the vision to lead their people to the promised land with the introverted intuition.

A variant of this is the Investigator Adolf Hitler which is not so peaceful and is about building a better world for the ‘us’ at the expense of the ‘them’.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Investigator might say:

"I have made a ceaseless effort not to ridicule, not to bewail, not to scorn human actions but to understand them."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know everything squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

Among the oddities of the Investigator is their contradictory nature. They are full of dualities such as their ability to seem both extraverted and introverted. They are interested in inclusivity and tolerance of others but are very exclusive regarding whom they allow into their innermost circle. They desire authentic connection with people but often wear a mask that conceals their true selves. They have a capacity to be chameleon-like to fit in with groups but also have a penchant for rebelling against the status quo and going their own way.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"Puts a lot of effort into looking like they put in no effort."

Fashion sense: "Romantic, appropriate, symbolic accents. Soft, oversized and comfortable at home."

Style précis: "Restrained, practical, focusses on ethical brands and conscious consumerism."

Bright Colours: "Wears bright colours occasionally."

Dressage Risk: "The fear of not being 'original' enough."

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Investigator pattern™:

"You are a mystical unicorn. Sometimes I want more. You have a dream of a perfect future and this is regardless of how things are today."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Investigator pattern™:

"Where do you hide??? Where can I find more?. But why are you so tactless and a doorslammer?"

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Investigator pattern™:

"I see you to have shown your colours. Therefore, my trust in you is very high."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Investigator pattern™:

"I think that you are guilty of having a sense of moral superiority and a notion that you always know what is best. While you often can be a spiritual guru, well-equipped for moral arbitration taking into account important black-and-white facts and logic in tandem with compassion and empathy, you may come to think too highly of your opinions and take for granted your standard of moral authority. You may sometimes display arrogance in the form of a messiah complex or through unsolicited lectures or a discourse on or of a moral theme that may strike others as being sanctimonious regardless of how well-intentioned you may be. You may sometimes feel that your ability to read people is on par with professional psychics and crystal balls. This is where facts and beliefs can collide. You do not like Oxor™ nor the behaviour pattern theories."

E. Hunter What the Investigator pattern HATES™: Jumping to conclusions.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Define it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

"Social."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

"You always let things get under your skin. Stop being so sensitive."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

"The psychic who knows what is best for everyone more than they know themselves, obviously."

Difficulty distinguishing between the Investigator and the Agent? E. Hunter suggests:

▶ The Investigator is happiest when being understood whereas the Agent is happiest when being validated and trusted.

▶ The Investigator never misses a deadline whereas the Agent is the procrastinator.

▶ The Investigator says what always comes first is others emotions and healing them even if they are not fine themselves whereas the Agent always puts their own emotions first.

▶ The Investigator asks "Why is humanity here?” whereas the Agent asks “What is humanity doing here?”

▶ The Investigator loves people and wants to help them whereas the Agent loves people but is sick of them.

▶ The Investigator seems like a cold robot whereas the Agent seems like an over emotional freak.

▶ The Investigator is more focussed on outwards and are less impersonal in their ideas whereas the Agent is more focussed on the inside and are personal with their ideas.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Heals those who are hurting.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Others gossiping about them.

At the Neutral level

Value-driven and determined, Agents want to bring their best ideas and passions into reality. They are usually creative and tend to do their best work alone where they can imagine, contemplate and fantasise. The pull of the imagination can make them somewhat reclusive and over-sensitive to the outside world. They may find themselves impatient with people because their idealised world is so much more perfect than reality. That said, Agents are usually empathetic, conscientious and skilled at listening. They like getting to know people one-on-one, where distractions will not get in the way of mirroring the other person’s emotions and "getting into their shoes."

In conflict and in arguments, Agents can be very judgmental about those who they feel have the "wrong" values. This can result in a morally superior attitude and they may only spend time with people who are very similar to them as a result. They may feel that Directors, OTs, Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals, Perfectionists, Results and Achiever are unnecessarily harsh or selfish, or they may view Directors, OTs, Appraisers, Practitioners, Results, Achievers, Counselors and Specialists as lacking vision or imagination. They realise they have weaknesses in the thinking and sensing areas, but trying to grow here will make them feel drained or bored. As they mature, they start to realise that getting advice from those types mentioned is useful and they begin to realise the strengths of their opposites.

The imagination and insight of the Agent is usually very advanced. They can find connections between things that others miss and are usually good at innovating and pioneering new ideas and initiatives. They are curious about people and are good at collaborating and supporting others as long as their values are respected. Creative jobs that offer a lot of variety and independence draw them in and they are usually very committed to their careers when there is a creative element. While they may seem somewhat eccentric, their out-of-the-box thinking and compassion make them likeable and intriguing to many.

In relationships, the Agent conforms to what Winona Ryder said, “I think too much. I think ahead. I think behind. I think sideways. I think it all. If it exists, I’ve fucking thought of it.” This pattern is obsessively open-minded and there is nothing more infuriating to them than a person who refuses to consider alternate points of view. They need a deep, compelling partner who can keep up with their ever-shifting kaleidoscope of thoughts and emotions. Being close-minded is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Agent cares deeply and passionately about a few special people or a cause. One word that captures this pattern is 'idealistic'.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To read fantasy or science fiction books; To perform worse under pressure; To see beauty in imperfection; To spend more time listening to music than any other pattern; To need at least half an hour to really wake up; To be vegetarians or vegans; To try to go back but cannot remember the way if get lost; To consider that they were voted the most likely to start a revolution.

Least: To take action without procrastination; To like feeling invalidated; To like being in a situation where they have to be logical and objective; To be subjected to others who have a lack of imagination; To be in a situation that involves conflict.

Hidden talent: Analytical Ability

Rightly, the Agent is often stereotyped as having incredibly deep feelings, which they often express patiently and eloquently. What is less known is the thorough and rigorous analysis they apply to the formation of their personal values. These types take care to explore many different viewpoints, understand the issues they care about deeply and stay informed about the topics they feel personally invested in. They tend to be known for their emotional intelligence but overlooked for their analytical inclinations. This is the Social Justice Warrior aspect.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Give them lots of romance. Be very authentic. Understand their moods and give space, but not too much.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The “Che Guvera” Rebel.

Both ‘Che Guvera and Fidel Castro are Promoters.
Even in more ordinary times, it is highly possible to see Agents and Promoters involved in some radical environmental or political group.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Agent might say:

"A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a little about a lot squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

One of the most interesting odities concerning the Agent is their penchant for personifying inanimate objects. There are Agents who have confessed to imbuing their plants with personalities and caring for them with the type of love and tenderness normally reserved for babies. They may also personify things such as a learning technique to make obscure concepts seem more palatable and easier to understand. They have a very active imagination so it is not unusual for them to hold a conversation with things that cannot speak. They reside in La La Land.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"Alternative, but plain, clothing that stands out just the right amount."

Fashion sense: "Individualistic, non-traditional, catered to personal taste."

Style précis: "Individual, expressive, not afraid to follow their own rules."

Bright Colours: "Is currently wearing bright colours."

Dressage Risk: "While not fond of fashion reviews, no matter how low a product is rated, they often give it a chance only to find themselves disappointed with a wasted purchase."

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Agent pattern™:

If the world was completely made up of Agents, God forbid, I believe the only issue the planet would have would be running out of journals to write down your feelings in."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Agent pattern™:

"You are far too good to let people misuse your kindness, compassion, etc. Please try to set some boundaries so you do not get shat on by lesser beings. But you are trapped in La La Land. You scored the second highest in marital dissatisfaction and the most likely to be discontent with their work and sexual satisfaction."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Agent pattern™ :

"I see you as nice, yet useless and lazy. Therefore, my trust in you is very low."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Agent pattern™:

"I think that you are pretty modest although your aloofness can be sometimes perceived as conceit. You may feel that you are deeper than most people and may view the average person is being relatively shallow and pitiably unaware of the things on which you ponder regularly. This depth of emotion you possess likely informs and energizes your creativity. You may pride yourself on the poignancy and nuance of how you think and feel and the work you produce as a result of this. Some may say "What work?" Many of you may be drawn to the arts, especially that of creative writing, and may find their voice in poetry. To this end, You can develop an air of snobbery surrounding your creative expression and may come to regard those who do not understand or appreciate your work as being soulless boors. You need to look in the mirror regarding how you come across to most."

E. Hunter What the Agent pattern HATES™: Shallowness.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Love it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

"Strong."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

"You are living in your head. No one is plotting against you."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

"The imaginary dark fairy who daydreams with the attention span of a goldfish."

Difficulty distinguishing between the Agent and the Investigator? E. Hunter suggests:

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Corrupt learning systems.

At the Neutral level

Achievers are analytical, practical and questioning. They enjoy staying grounded and pride themselves on their realistic, objective outlook. They have a knack for troubleshooting and thinking up logical solutions to immediate, make-or-break situations. They are usually one of the first to respond to an unexpected event and the first to notice an unusual detail in their environment (although they may not say anything about it). Their attentiveness to the world around them helps them to notice anything out of place or potentially threatening.

While Achiever are valued for their easy-going, logical outlook on life, they can also turn people off with their insensitivity. Achievers tend to de-value interpersonal needs and can be especially aloof, detached and hard-to-read. They may view people who are hurt by their directness as overly sensitive and thin skinned. With time and life experience most Achievers work on this area of their lives, but it tends to be a struggle. Achievers may also de-value the perspectives of Persuaders, Investigators, Promoters, Agents, Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals and Perfectionists, seeing them as unrealistic or overly fanciful.

Achievers enjoy having a mental "blueprint" of how the world works to help them find solutions and answers to problems. They enjoy taking a hands-on approach with their work and like to stay active and engaged with the world around them. Procrastination can be a problem because they want to find the absolute best way to do something before moving forward. If they feel stifled, controlled or bored by a project they may continuously look for distractions. They tend to enjoy working independently or with a lot of personal freedom and control. They endure reasonable impositions without complaint. But if their 'territory' is encroached upon, eroded, or violated they defend what they view as rightfully theirs.

In relationships, the Achiever is an incredibly independent partner and they need to be paired with someone who understands this. They love and care for their partners, but they are not interested in constantly reassuring them of such. If their loved ones cannot take their actions as expressions of love, they will not have the patience to carry on the relationship. Insecurity is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Achiever is egalitarian (belief in equality) and can be fiercely loyal to their "brothers" but they can also be fiercely insubordinate, seeing hierarchy and authority as unnecessary and even superfluous. It is not so much a matter of going against regulations as it is simply ignoring them. The Appraiser must do their thing, free to vary each next move. And they are, or want to be, proud of their ability to make the next move skillfully.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To most likely type to dress for comfort; To sleep in; To avoid asking other people for help; To have a hard time reading other people’s body language; To never get lost; To blindside others who will not see it coming.

Least: To say it was easy for them to do well at school; To be in a position where they are told what to do; To have to put up with stupid behaviour; To like being placed in a rigid structure; To put up with people who 'will not get their hands dirty'.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Do not be clingy. At all.

Hidden talent: Intellect

Rightly, the Achiever is often stereotyped as the impulsive adrenaline junkie who lives their life on the edge. However, many are intellectual, analytical and studious. They approach each new topic that sparks their interest with an intent to research them thoroughly and comprehensively. Many would sooner be found in a library than dangling off the edge of a cliff. The intellect of the Achiever is severely and regularly underestimated.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The “Rebel without a cause” Rebel.

The Achiever, together with the Results, just wants to have fun. If someone is out having fun doing something they are not supposed to do, they are probably a Achiever or Results.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Achiever might say:

"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a little about a lot squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

One of the oddities of the Achiever is their dichotomy of slowness and quickness. They can be slow to make decisions as they think carefully and are deeply ponderous. But suddenly, in the midst of a crisis, they can be roused to action and act very decisively. They are normally reposed and easy going but have the capacity to think quickly in response to emergent problems. Additionally, they can surprise others with the amount of detail they pick up and how quickly they can master new skills.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"The trusty sweater, or particular item of clothing, is all they ever need. And it is 15 years old."

Fashion sense: "Breathable, coordinated, matched to the situation, comfortable, casual (outside of work)."

Style précis: "Functional, versatile, cool; tend to opt for clothes that will not get in the way of favourite activities."

Bright Colours: "Does not wear bright colours."

Dressage Risk: "Have a dilemma when they actually have to attend an event or a gathering where they have to don a certain look, leaving them to shop with their theoretical knowledge down to the last minute."

Narrative of the Compás moral™:

Try to be consistent between their words and actions and are very practical in their moral philosophy. They may value a "live and let live" mentality because they want the space and freedom to pursue the life they want to lead and allow others to do the same. They may also exhibit an heroic disposition and a willingness to act quickly to help others on a moment’s notice. They can be resentful of those who have wronged them but are unlikely to hold onto trivial grudges preferring instead to move on with their lives without looking back.

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Achiever pattern™:

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Achiever pattern™:

"Sometimes I feel like I need to inject you with adrenaline or sugar or something to get a little more pizazz out of you."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Achiever pattern™:

"I see you as the mechanic. Therefore, my trust in you is neutral."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Achiever pattern™:

"I think that you can be smug about your ability to fix each and every device and figure out how things work. You are good at logical analysis and like to use it on practical concerns. You typically have strong powers of reasoning, although you are not interested in theories or concepts unless you can see a practical application. You may even create problems in your personal relationships just so that you can have fun fixing them. You do not believe in, or follow, rules and regulations as this would prohibit your ability to “do your own thing”. Your sense of adventure and desire for constant action makes you prone to becoming bored rather quickly."

E. Hunter What the Achiever pattern HATES™: Being managed.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Rebel against it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

At the Neutral level

Practitioners are usually practical, diligent and detail-oriented. They enjoy the simpler pleasures in life and thrive on a healthy, consistent routine. Creating an atmosphere of comfort, serenity and stability gives them a great amount of joy. They are often prized by their friends for their empathy, sincerity and reliability. They are very true to their word and enjoy helping others deal with their physical or emotional needs. One issue that Practitioners tend to struggle with in friendships is being hyper-sensitive. They like to have good rapport and may struggle to give criticism when it is needed. They will want encouragement, approval and affirmation from others and may feel hurt or taken for granted when it is not given.

When it comes to work, Practitioners usually have very high standards. They enjoy getting projects done ahead of schedule and they are very precise and careful, making sure every detail is just right. That said, they can struggle with seeing the "big picture". They may get so caught up in doing things a familiar way that they shut down alternate perspectives or innovative techniques. They want to work with what they know and may get irritated by people who try to "push" progress on them. They can be very reluctant to consider alternative methods or perspectives once their mind is made up.

Overall, Practitioners are gentle, compassionate and pragmatic. Their attentiveness to the needs of others is nearly unmatched. Like all types there are issues they can work on but, for the most part, they are productive and well-loved.

If ever they engage on social situations, they are socially conforming that you will not even notice their true colours. They will use their energy reserves to “not look like” introverts. They can appear to be fun to be with, social and flexible - especially when social conformity is needed.
But Oxor™ recognizes that they are the most common pattern but these circumstances make them hard to spot. You need time and keen observation.
The social fun is a mirage. They do not have to act out in public. If you observe them being comfortable in their surroundings (e.g. their office cubicle, room, home, library or anywhere they feel safe), they will be the introvert - meek and quiet, minding their own business; bordering on boring.
If you ever hold them to account and create a situation where conflict may be involved, their manipulative and passive-aggressive behaviour is obvious to see.
When they have a fear of confrontation, they not only avoid certain situations, but they start to avoid being around particular people all the time. They become anxious, They concentrate on chores, even mindless ones collecting 10 cent empty bottles to gat a refund. Odd health problems crop up, pain for no reason, they will not go out because someone may be unvaccinated. These are Practitioner features, trust us.

In relationships, the Practitioner needs a partner they can relax with and feel comfortable around. Being a sensitive type by nature, that means they need a partner who cares deeply about both their feelings and the feelings of others. Obnoxious or arrogant personalities do not fly with this kind and collected pattern – they put their best foot forward for others and they need a partner who can and will do the same. Insensitivity is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Practitioner is quiet and reserved and are loyal and devoted to family members, friends and coworkers who take their responsibilities towards others very seriously. Sensitive and sympathetic, they are good listeners, eager to help people in real and practical ways, which they do best by drawing on their own personal experience.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To pick supporting roles in multi-player video games; To go back to the start if get lost; To want to say that 'at last we are friends'.

Least: To consider themselves special in many ways; To manipulate other people; To want to travel to space someday; To want to be famous; To enjoy gambling; To have to put up with inconsiderate people; To be put in a position to have to make tough decisions that affect others; To enjoy not 'fitting in'; To not be able to share.

Hidden talent: Insight And Depth

Rightly, the Practitioner is often stereotyped as a nurturer and giver, but they are also incredibly deep thinkers, who devote a great deal of time and effort into understanding the human condition. They are practical in nature but complex and nuanced in their thoughts. They consider new perspectives deeply and often come to profound conclusions about the nature of life and love. While they are certainly nurturers and givers at heart, they are deep and contemplative thinkers in nature - a trait that is often overlooked.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

They need you to communicate clearly and tell them all your feelings and rely on them to help out. Basically, do not hide your feelings.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The non Rebel.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Practitioner might say:

"The true secret of happiness lies in the taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know a lot about very little squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

One of the oddities of the Practitioner is that their self confidence is closely tied to their capacity to be useful and helpful to others. Without other people to do things for, they are prone to feel lost and without purpose or meaning. They are much less driven by vainglorious ambitions of self enrichment and power. They crave validation from others and the satisfaction they derive from knowing they are doing a great service to others. It might seem perplexing to other more independent and ego-driven types such as the Enhancer and Results just how much they enjoy serving others.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"Soft colours. Wears funny socks at home."

Fashion sense: "Classic, traditional, comfortable, coordinated."

Style précis: "Modest, reserved, classic; prefer not to break the mould."

Bright Colours: "Wears bright colours occasionally."

Dressage Risk: "Can overlook their own beauty / looks."

Narrative of the Compás moral™:

May be inclined towards some prejudiced perceptions predicated on whatever they have been conditioned to believe. The values they were brought up with in childhood are likely to stick with them throughout their lives and go unquestioned for the most part. They tend to have conservative values and cling to old-fashioned views. They feel responsible for helping people and are inclined to be very compassionate, but may have to get over some initial prejudice and trust issues when confronted with anything unfamiliar.

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Practitioner pattern™:

You seem to usually be that one friend in the squad that is sort of everyone’s mother. Responsible and gentle."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Practitioner pattern™:

"Stop taking everything so personally and loosen up a little. Realise that resolving conflict is someone else's gig. Drop the passive-aggressive behaviour."
"You are not a leader not manager's bootlace. You do not do what is needed, but whatever presents the fewest difficulties".

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Practitioner pattern™:

"I see you as selfless with a sense of responsibility, dutiful with substantial friendship. Therefore, my trust in you is high."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Practitioner pattern™:

"I think that you adhere to a certain way of doing things that, in your opinion at least, is of a high standard that most people would not adhere to. You may/are very judgmental and critical of people who do not respect or live up to your standards of conduct or hold you to account. Although you generally carry yourself with modesty, you pride yourself on acts of service and help to other people. You may sometimes cultivate a sense of self-righteousness or moral superiority surrounding their capacity for charity or good behaviour which may often be linked to religious values or values instilled in them from childhood."

E. Hunter What the Practitioner pattern HATES™: Lateness.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Does what must be done.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Getting into trouble.

At the Neutral level

The Objective Thinker is meticulous, logical and organised. They enjoy creating a steady routine and are prized for their grounded outlook on life. They believe in honesty and preparedness and are gifted at creating security for their loved ones and themselves. Planning is a skill that they take pride in. They instinctively know how to break large projects down into sequential steps and they also have a knack for creating contingency plans in case the original plans fall through. The only downside to this is that they can struggle with being spontaneous, flexible or open to change. Once they know what works they dislike being told to do things in a new way and they can become very stubborn on these issues.

In the workplace, they enjoy being in a structured, quiet environment. They like some independence and function best when their surroundings are peaceful and calm. Working in an "open" environment with a lot of very talkative people can be exhausting for them. They may sometimes push their type preferences too strongly at work, becoming rigid, judgmental, insistent and critical. They have such a clear idea about how things should be done that they feel incapable of delegating to anyone else for fear that they will fcuk it all up. They especially struggle with Persuaders, Investigators, Promoters, Agents, Developers, Enhancers, Inspirationals, and Perfectionists who they see as being overly-fanciful or abstract. It can feel like they are communicating in two different languages when they are speaking to each other. They also detest working with people who procrastinate or are wishy-washy and not dependable. They may deliver harsh truths to people who are different from them, feeling that they are "helping" but instead only hurting them. With growth and development they tend to see their weaknesses in Intuition, Feeling or Perceiving. They will start to listen to people with opposing preferences and integrate their perspectives into their own life for a more balanced outlook. In the same way they can help other types to recognize the value of Sensing, Thinking and Judging perspectives.

In relationships, the Objective Thinker is an incredibly principled individual who bases all of their decisions on a core set of values. And they need a partner who lives their life in accordance with those same values or else they will have trouble finding common ground. This pattern needs to feel a mutual respect for whomever they are in a relationship with and if they perceive the other person to be morally corrupt in some way, they will have a difficult time mustering that respect. Deviance from their personal system of values is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Objective Thinker is reliable, steady and supportive. Focussed on procedure and structure, they help us track our world and keep things moving. They help us maintain life by creating accountability and templates that we can rely upon. Whether they are teachers, engineers, managers or police chiefs they often show up with high levels of competency and professionalism.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To avoid risky or unpredictable situations; To prefer traditional gender roles in their relationships; To say they are private individuals; To love learning for the sake of it; To never get lost; To consider that the impossible has already been done.

Least: To consider playing a role on a TV show; To believe in lucky numbers; To eat something without knowing what it is; To leave a mess behind; To put up with under performance; To be put in a position where they let others down; To be put in a position where they are nagged; To be put in a position of unrealistic deadlines; To be put in a situation involving a 'lack of honour' being alleged at them; To be the strict conservative dad from movies who does not understand their free-spirited Promoter or Agent daughter.

Hidden talent: Intellect

Rightly, the Objective Thinker is often stereotyped as being hardworking, diligent and dutiful. But what they are less known for is their keen intellectual streak. They take care to research the topics that interest them incredibly thoroughly. Thanks to their natural thirst for knowledge and attention to detail, many make excellent scholars and academics. While they are certainly dutiful, they are often underestimated for their hearty intellectual inclinations. This is something to watch out for as they are only ranked 9 out of 16 on our Noetic Explorer™. Advanced user of our cohort are careful not to discount the Objective Thinker because of this.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

Can be somewhat similar to the Enhancer in that they require space and understanding. They would also require you to respect certain traditions that are dear to them and understand that some of their routines are crucial and you do not demand they sacrifice that for anything.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The Counter Revolutionary Rebel.

Together with the Director, the Objective Thinker in recent years has discovered rebellion despite being usually the least rebellious patterns.
Did every counter-revolution in history have these two in its ranks.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Objective Thinker might say:

"The most important things in life are the facts and not the people."

E. Hunter Squad™:

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

An oddity of the Objective Thinker may be their propensity for asking probing questions as part of their conversation technique. On romantic dates, their attempts at getting to know a person may resemble an FBI interrogation session. They can seem a little rigid or stiff because of their discomfort with spontaneous and organic intimacy. Their need to plan out so many things and busy themselves with “work” may leave the people in their lives feel like an afterthought.

As a result, you may be judgmental of those who do not exhibit at least a reasonable level of diligence. / Unique Vibes™: Sci-fi; Bold and Passive.

Allegedly 'What born to do', an Oxor™ concept. Seeks that which is unknown.

Allegedly 'What freaks them out', an Oxor™ concept. Others betraying their trust.

At the Neutral level

Perfectionists are always on the hunt for truth and unbiased thinking. They are extremely analytical and want to improve their knowledge of how the world works at every turn. This results in them amassing massive amounts of information, trying to figure out how every bit of it is connected and which parts are true or false. Perfectionists can be reclusive and somewhat cynical, finding it hard to connect with other people because it is so hard for them to communicate their thoughts clearly. Instead of trying to work as a team they prefer to do things their own way so that they do not have to delegate or depend on people to understand their train of thought.

Perfectionists can struggle to take action because they always feel like they need more data. If they do not feel like they have absolute truth they will continue to look for more information rather than move forward with what they currently have. They can also become distracted by tangents and alternate possibilities rather than start and complete one project at a time. This can change, however, when they get a sudden burst of energy or inspiration. During these "bursts" they can work very hard, creating ingenious long-range plans and being unusually productive. They can also troubleshoot very effectively in a make-or-break situation where a "good enough" solution is what is needed at the moment.

In relationships, the Perfectionist may struggle with Persuaders, Investigators, Promoters, Agents, Appraisers, Practitioners, Counselors and Specialists as needlessly involved in the affairs of others. Also with Directors, Objective Thinkers, Appraisers, Practitioners, Results, Achievers, Counselors and Specialists who they see as limited in their thinking rather than realistic and grounded. As they grow and mature they realise that they have blind spots in these areas and will seek out the help of the types mentioned to balance out their viewpoints.
They are the ultimate critical thinkers – this pattern will not accept any thought, fact or opinion until they have examined it thoroughly, from every available angle. Though they may not expect their partners to be as intellectually thorough as they are, they need to be paired with someone who wants to learn, advance and grow alongside them. After all, if they cannot discuss the latest theory they are interested in, they are going to have very little left to discuss. A partner who cannot think critically is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Perfectionist is an independent problem solver who excels at providing a detached, concise analysis of an idea or situation. They ask the difficult questions, challenging others and themselves to find new logical approaches. While they are not good at understanding their own feelings and might made decisions completely without them, opting to rely on broader principals instead; they can seem warm, but often make decisions devoid of subjective ideals.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To find it difficult to focus during morning classes; To consider becoming an astronomer; To dream of winning a Nobel Prize in physics; To disagree with the majority opinion in a group setting; To say black is their favourite colour; To go back to the start if get lost.

Least: To to trust anyone completely; To be exposed to others who demonstrate a lack of intelligence; To be put in a position to give emotional perspectives; To be put in a position where there is 'scientific starvation'; To be put in a position where they have to invalidate ideas.

Hidden talent: Thoughtfulness

Rightly, the Perfectionist is often stereotyped as being somewhat avoidant and socially aloof. But what is lesser discussed is the intense concentration and thoughtfulness they bring to each encounter. Contrary to their tuned-out stereotype, they bring a great deal of concentration and presence to their interactions. They take their investments (emotional or otherwise) seriously. They take particular care to express themselves clearly and portray their thoughts honestly. Anyone who knows a Perfectionist well would be hard-pressed to label them as completely aloof or avoidant.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

They will have the attitude that arguing with them is something other should not bother to do. Give them space, tell them very clearly what your expectations in the relationship. They cannot and will not guess. Do not bog them down with social roles. Do not force them to commit; up to a point.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: “I’m not obeying your stupid rule” Rebel.

Never ask a Perfectionist or Inspirational to obey a stupid rule. The Perfectionist can be very, very, stubborn, the unmovable mountain, if they do not feel like it, they are not doing it. The Perfectionist is more likely to resist stubbornly alone and in private but perhaps dominating chat groups and forums.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Perfectionist might say:

"Nobody realises that some people expend their tremendous energy merely to be normal."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know everything squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

The Perfectionist is frequently misunderstood and may seem arrogant and condescending without intending to be.
They are prone to rationalizing. Everything has to be logical they may even provide logical explanations for things that are flat-out wrong (cognitive dissonance).
They have Extraverted Sensing which means they you are likely to be (especially during adolescence): Absent-minded (walk and talk in a funny manner); Lack in fashion sense (unmatched clothes, unkempt hair etc.); Mislabeled as autistic/ADHD (although commonly found in both groups); Lazy (does not like to get out of comfort zone); Having a steep learning curve, which means start below average but can end up way above average.
Big-time procrastinator. Having introverted intuition the critic function means that they become unmotivated when not interested in the subject matter. They can easily become quite knowledgeable in topics that pique their interest, yet fail to graduate and hold a decent 9–5 job.
Very picky when choosing friends. Prefers quality over quantity, which leaves them with fewer friends (usually geeks) and interests that deviate from the norm.
They have a high IQ. With the Enhancer, one of the most common petterns with an IQ of 145+. May also have other quirks like synesthesia (hear music and see shapes) absolute pitch, eidetic memory (recall an image from memory with high precision) etc. Inability to visualize.
They are egalitarian and do not like competitions, unless they expand knowledge in the process. Very open to new ideas and perspectives, which makes them one of the least judgmental of all 16.
Difficult to get to know and may suffer from shyness or social anxiety - especially if a highly sensitive person as well.
Self-critical to the nth degree. Falling into the grip of your inferior function extraverted feelingcan cause a lot of self-doubt and low self-esteem. This can trigger “analysis paralysis”. This can be described as a depression-like mental state where they are stuck in their comfort zone.
Obsessive compulsive disorder like behaviour. Some have claimed to have some weird habits such as the persistent avoidance of stepping on cracks, walking under ladders or purchasing everything in pairs.
They may also be guilty of wearing the same clothes or same style of clothing everyday like some sort of self-imposed uniform. This is probably because they like to keep their wardrobe simple and economical sticking with what they know works for them so they do not have to worry about looking like too much of a fashion-impaired dope. My father wore his sports jacket and collared business shirt while gardening. See what I mean.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"As long as it covers their body, they do not care."

Fashion sense: "Comfortable, studious, clever witty t-shirts during downtime."

Style précis: "Basic, easy-going, low-maintenance; an uncomplicated approach to dressing."

Bright Colours: "Ironically, is wearing bright colours."

Dressage Risk: "Absent minded and uncaring."

Narrative of the Compás moral™:

Their strong principles are based solely on what makes sense to them and not just what they have been taught to believe. Logical consistency is an important factor in their compás moral and so behaviour such as hypocrisy and double standards will likely be regarded as cardinal sins. They will not blindly uphold what they cannot find justification for. They are able to couch their morality in logic and provide rational justifications for what and why they believe rather than blind obedience to some decree.

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Perfectionist pattern™:

"I can bring up anything and you will know exactly what I am talking about and have already done an in-depth research report about it last week. You are always thinking about theories, trying to understand the universe and how everything around them works and are not wrapped up in dreams and fantasies."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Perfectionist pattern™:

"For fcuk's sake, at least try to make your handwriting semi-legible, if only so I can read your glorious work without you having to translate it for me. You are certainly less decisive than the Enhancer but come across with a certain geeky bubbliness. You seem to be more open to others but are you are more pedantic during debates and will argue into eternity."

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Perfectionist pattern™:

"I see you as absent minded and cannot do anything mechanical. Therefore, my trust in you is neutral."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Perfectionist pattern™:

"I think that you are a stickler for logical consistency and will be quick to dispute anything that does not add up within your finely calibrated framework of facts and logic. Because you spend such a vast amount of time thinking things through you will invariably begin to notice that many people seem to lack the level of critical thinking skills that you have developed. By and large, many of you may develop some arrogance around this notion that may show up in the way you challenge and dismantle other people’s arguments and point out the flaws in their rationale."

E. Hunter What the Perfectionist pattern HATES™: Emotional neediness.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Understand it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

"Sensitive."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

"Your mind is messier than your surroundings."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

"The critic who stays up reading Wikipedia until 4am to feed their hunger for knowledge."

At the Neutral level

The Enhancer is a self sufficient, planning, researching, logical human being with keen preceptive skills and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. They occasionally decide to share their insights with reliable accuracy and sometimes brutal honesty.

Visionary and future-focussed, Enhancers see connections and possibilities that may not be obvious to the normal observer. They strive to bring their ideas into tangible reality and can be quite logical, organised and decisive in making things happen. While they can be very productive and task-oriented, they also desire a great deal of autonomy and independence. It can be difficult for them to translate their ideas into words and they may become cynical and impatient with people who just do not seem to "get it". Over time, they may feel that they have to do everything themselves rather than work at communicating to others. They may also be overly critical in their responses when they feel overwhelmed or surrounded by perceived incompetence.

One of the many strengths of the Enhancer is their ability to be fair and rational. They do not like to get mixed up in emotional drama and they hate the idea of preferential treatment. People know they can count on them to be honest and direct as well as unbiased. They hate emotional manipulation or coercion and their straightforwardness makes them valued friends. To get an Enhancer talking, ask a debatable hypothetical question as they cannot resist not saying what they would do in that situation.

In relationships, the Enhancer can struggle to appreciate types with opposing preferences. They may see Directors, Objective Thinkers, Appraisers, Practitioners, Results, Achievers, Counselors and Specialists as narrow-minded or shallow rather than realistic and detail-oriented. They may see Persuaders, Investigators, Promoters, Agents, Appraisers, Practitioners, Counselors and Specialists as illogical rather than interpersonally intelligent. They may view Promoters, Agents, Inspirationals, Perfectionists, Results, Achievers, Counselors and Specialists as lazy rather than appreciating their need to stay open to new information. Easy to see why Enhancers are loners who are very difficult to know. As Enhancers grow and mature they start to realise that they have blind spots in these areas and will appreciate input from people with these preferences. However, excessive amounts of input from their opposites can feel draining over time, especially sensing input because sensing is their weakest function.
They also seek the truth at all costs and their relationships are no exception to this rule. They loathe being duped, lied to or kept in the dark. They want to make all decisions about their relationships from an informed perspective. If they feel as though they are lacking that perspective, they will be quick to leave any partner who will not be upfront and honest with them. Dishonesty is the deal breaker.

Intrinsically valuable or desirable principles.

The Enhancer has an inner world rich with endless possibilities that, when combined with their thinking and judging preferences, gives them a drive toward constant improvement of everything. Indeed, these are the "better idea" people of the typological world. Everything – words, plans, designs, ideas, processes, people – have room for improvement. In the Enhancer’s eyes, even the best can be made better. While they are not good at expressing their feelings but are more likely to stand by them; they appear cold, but the feeling's there.

Most and least likely to:

Most: To spot plot holes in movies or books; To say it was easy for them to do well in school; To say learning with other people is more distracting than helpful; To prefer single-player to multi-player in video games; To enjoy classical music; To often expect the worst; To never get lost; To believe the destiny is theirs to control.

Least: To take pictures at concerts or live events; To put up with ignorant people; To put up with people who dispute demonstrated facts; To accept people who do not take responsibility for their own actions and blame others; To put up with flippant behaviour; To put up with idiots; To have to put up with those who are intellectually inferior or cannot 'keep up' in all situations; To be placed in a situation of feeling stupid; To be put in a position to be forced to accept subjective arguments.

Hidden talent: Idealism

Rightly, the Enhancer is often stereotyped as ruthlessly logical and efficient. While these traits can certainly be a part of the Enhancer’s personality, they almost always work in conjunction with their deeply-embedded sense of moral responsibility and idealism. These types harbour keen visions about how they would like to improve the world and they work tirelessly to make their ideals a reality. While we are quick to label the Persuader, Investigator, Promoter and Agent as dreamers, the Enhancer can give any of these a run for their money when it comes to their ability to visualize and actualize their ideals.

What this pattern will want - you should know this if you are interacting!

They need togetherness and yet separateness. Give them space when needed and the understanding and maturity that, no matter the lack of conversation and presence of space, both parties are strong. Understand that they do not speak from a personal space, in most cases. They speak factually and rationally and will encourage you to do the same. They demand loyalty. They are completely willing to discuss rationally absolutely anything of substance. Always be authentic; they hate anything fake, mediocre or insincere.

What this pattern may be as a rebel: The Lenin, The Rebel Mastermind.

One would expect the Enhancer or the Director to be the one sitting in the Presidential Palace sending their Objective Thinker police out to break some protesters limbs.
Likes to see losers follow the path of approbation followed by elevation followed by castration. May show malice in defeat and revenge in victory.

E. Hunter Articulation™ of what the Enhancer might say:

"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society."

E. Hunter Squad™:

"The know everything squad."

E. Hunter Oxor Oddity Descriptions™:

One of the biggest oddities of the Enhancer is their rampant obliviousness of their surroundings. Many could probably impress you with the volume and depth of knowledge and insight that they have developed. However, if you asked them to tell you the colour of the chair that they are sitting in without looking at it, the chances are that you will have stumped them. They are always focussed on their thoughts and so much of what occurs around them goes largely unnoticed. They tend not to pay attention to details unless they are in some way shape or form relevant to them. This is correct. I am one.
Another unxepected trait is emotional intelligence. Most of the time you know the whys, when, where and whats but knowing does not make you a candidates of knowing how to respond with an empathetic approach. You do not! You find it difficult to have emotional intelligence with those who only seek emotional validation and whose goal is to cry it out and solve nothing.

E. Hunter Dressage Giveaway™:

"The only way is to describe it is 'funky elegance'. Sweater enthusiasts."

Fashion sense: "Professional, minimalistic, mix and match, occasionally individualistic (during free time)."

Style précis: "Simple, neat, purposeful; a variation of the same theme every day."

Bright Colours: "Does not wear bright colours."

Dressage Risk: "Trends are optional, not a necessity making it hard for them to adapt to the crazy up-and-coming trends."

E. Hunter What I LOVE about the Enhancer pattern™:

"Obviously, they are the best. Dignified, intelligent, strategically gifted, the works. The perfect package. The most independent."
You do not entertain long arguments or debate. You will get bored or annoyed and leave early.
You are superb with your ability to push past failure and are incredibly resilient. Combine the quotes: From Hozier’s “Arsonist’s Lullaby”: “Don't you ever tame your demons, but always keep them on a leash.” and from James Baldwin: "History is not the past. It is the present. We carry our history with us. We are our history. If we pretend otherwise, we are literally criminals."

E. Hunter What I HATE about the Enhancer pattern™:

"For fcuk's sake, you are the greatest stupid, annoying and detestable person. Lol. And sometimes I wish you could stop yourself from over thinking the absolute ess, aitch, one, tee out of everything. Especially when it comes to dating. You are scary and decisive and come across cold and harsh. People think of you as closed-off and shady. "

E. Hunter What I TRUST about the Enhancer pattern™:

"I see you as cold and unemotional. But you are the true Mr. Reliable as long as the other person is not a dickhead. Therefore, my trust in you is absolute."

E. Hunter What I think is SMUG about the Enhancer pattern™:

"I think that you are very unresponsive to something that might normally excite interest or emotion and you place higher importance on objective reasoning over appeals to emotion. You can be intellectually smug and generally shun people who too often react emotionally and fail to think or assess things rationally. You may often see yourself as the voice of reason and as the only person capable of cutting through all the nonsense and addressing problems with effectiveness and efficiency. You can even become an imperious know-it-all who may be abrasive and tactless in expressing your contempt and criticisms of irrational or “idiotic” opinions. Your intellectual arrogance may sometimes contribute to extreme difficulty in admitting fault or guilt."

E. Hunter What the Enhancer pattern HATES™: Forced small talk.

E. Hunter satirical view of what this pattern wants to do with the world™:

Reform it.

E. Hunter One-Worder™ that might describe this pattern and which they and Oxor™ would be likely to deny:

"Soft."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to give the absolute truth that this pattern does not want to hear:

"If you do not want to end up alone, you should think twice before stating the uncomfortable facts."

E. Hunter One-Liner™ to sum up this pattern:

"The cunning strategist who spends most of the time planning how to avoid idiots."
